Hahaaa!  Lawyers are working on our case, just received an email from NVC that our DS-261 (lawyer is the agent) had been submitted.

Oh, and our case is processed through the consular electronic application center. I'm a bit lost and out-of-date about that stuff... does it make the processing our case potentially faster, or is it standard procedure?

nope not faster it's the ceac.state.gov website you still have to send in your docs per postal service, not like the electronic choice that some countries have. it's the shitty website that has the rest of us waiting...

Thank You appreciate it. Do we need to submit urdu Nikah nama as well?

Yes you need to submit the Urdu Nikah nama and the English translation as well. Also, submit the computerized Nikah nama from NADRA. It would be better if you get these three documents attested from the Foreign Ministry in Pakistan. It adds an extra layer of attestation. Hope this helps!

it's not one of the USCIS requirements if you follow the directions in the instruction sheet that comes with the from, they can ask for it though for whatever reason they might see fit.

I'm not sure about that to be honest with you. My lawyer basically took care of it. But I sent her all the documentation including both of our birth certificates prior to the I-130 submission. Now I do not know if she submitted it or not.

I know alot of people have been getting RFE's because they didn't submit the birth certificate.  I didn't submit either so waiting for a RFE now.

then it must be something with the country of origin of the beneficiary, but if one follows the form it's not a requirement as of yet.

I'm starting to think that they request birth certificates when the marriage certificate was granted outside the US. But that could be just a random pattern.
