Getting a request for documents WILL set you back slightly, but in the grand scheme of things it isn't a huge deal. If you send the stuff off as soon as you know what they need and have the documents available to send then it only adds a few weeks to the process. Also, if you only sent your stuff off in April and you've already had an RFE (meaning your case has been looked at) then that's a pretty good sign! Could you please fill in your profile and timeline? It will help you get an idea on similar cases to your own and also help people better understand your situation when you're asking for advice :)

@Silwightman I have a tourist visa from the U.K. (3 months each time of entry) and enter through Denver international / Los Angeles / New York / New Jersey - I've never been questioned on anything just been told to enjoy my time with my hubby! What kinds of things are you questioned on??

@Yeonin ah wow! You are starting the new job in your home or the us? Good luck with the company - that does sound exciting and a great distraction from NVC bs :P

@Nattie_Bry I've been to visit both before and after! Most recent dates are

Nov 2016 - 5 day visit

Dec 2016 - married + 10 day visit

Jan 2017 - 10 day visit

March 2017 - 10 day visit

July 2017 - 16 day visit

@AnIJrny damn! Sucks you didn't see the messages not to wait! But yea you are right - a few days won't hurt :) I am actually having to wait two weeks because I'm in the states now and my police cert from Japan wasn't processed until a day after I arrived here!! Just my luck ;) so gotta wait till I am back to send everything. Thank you so much :) you will be doing the same and making a home in no time! :D

Yayyyyyy....just want to share a good news. I just got my NOA2 by postal mail. My PD was Jan 26th. My petition was approved on July 22nd. But the website did not update yet. I was in TSC. It looks like TSC is working on late Jan right now. Good Luck for those who are still waiting.

@larnar1309 I had to leave my current job, couldn't stand the BS anymore and going through immigration all at once. I'll be on a project for Shell for as long as I'm still in the Netherlands, I needed the change so I just quit last month I'm easy like that, but I can't just do nothing I'm always the stay busy kind. 😁. Well Shell will look good on my resume as well so yeah win win for me

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing the good news. One quick question; did you submit the beneficiary's birth certificate? I've been seeing some cases in Texas where they send RFE asking for birth certificates. Thanks(:

nice move! I hope your interview goes well. You know I need to just chill for a year orso after getting there I'm 35 been working since I was around 17 and put myself through college and such, I need a breather and I know I'll get bored quick. My wife works around the country as an independent safety manager so if it's up to her I'll be traveling with her for a while...she'd be happy if I said I won't be working, she's been trying the " I earn more than well enough for you not to have to work" 😁😂, I just give her he side eye and don't respond to her. But I know myself pretty darn well...i will get bored quickly doing nothing. We also have to move to Charleston SC when I get there, so lots to take care of.

As far as I remember birth certificates for petitioner and beneficiary were a requirement when submitting i130. If you didn't submit them you'll get an RFE. Actually birth certificate for petitioner may have just been one of the options for proof of citizenship, but birth certificate for beneficiary was a must regardless of which service centre is processing the petition.
