I don't have the exact dates but:

Mid-Jan: Filed I-130

Early March: Received notice that G-325a and Affidavit of support missing

End of March: Submitted those

Early June: Received notice that they needed more specific info for some of the addresses

Mid-July: Received I-797C informing us that petition is "received" and "in process" over at the Texas centre (Priority and Receipt date both listed as June 23rd)

Yeah I know, really should've been more careful in submitting original petition. I kinda just trusted it to my wife to take care of, to just tell me to fill in whatever I need to fill in and file whatever cheques, and somehow she missed that G-325a is submitted along with the I-130. :/

Start counting from june 23, you docs starts for that month.

Cool. So, looking at the timelines people have submitted, current average for British people going via the Texas Service Centre (like us) is around 180 days / 6 months from NOA1 to interview. So... yeah, gonna double down on making sure we have everything absolutely correct and squared away in advance. Currently filing for my criminal background check atm.

With any luck, I'll be interviewing in January so long as we do everything correct.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer but from Noa1 to interview is a lot longer than 6 months. Noa1 to Noa2 is roughly 6 months right now, especially in texas... and then starting from when USCIS sends your petition to NVC you're looking at at least another 4 or 5.

Im not sure if your clock literally starts again seeing as they gave you a new priority date but if it DOES then you need to expect to be waiting until next April roughly for interview.

It really, really sucks and it's unfair that they are so damn slow but hopefully this highlights the importance of doing your research on what's needed and checking over what you're about to submit, especially with NVC ahead, as if you make one mistake or forget one thing the clock resets for another 11 weeks each and every time. Good luck with it and keep us up to date! Hopefully it will go quick enough :)

lol yeah - i don't think you can edit posts here. I realised my mistake and was trying to edit that before someone pointed it out.

Yeah, it's 6 months until NOA2. I had read it was 5-6 months, but then looking at Timeline data, I saw people with 1-3 months to get from NOA1 to NOA2. But when you actually look at the details, these are people applying through the embassy, which seems to go much quicker.

Yeah I assume you're referring to DCF which is a lot quicker. If your wife is with you in the UK you could have applied directly through London embassy but im assuming that isn't your situation lol.

YES. this is really frustrating. but I also have seen few January filers get their NOA2 already. that motivates me a little. Hope for the best i guess :(

USCIS representatives will only give you the same information that you see on their processing dates page online. I wouldn't really trust it so much to be honest! Have a look at timelines for your service centre on visa journey, at least you can rest assured that this is more up to date information. Don't lose hope! People from Jan have definitely been seeing approvals.

Also keep in mind that the page showing reported processing times says at the top "as of May 31, 2017". That means at the end of may they were working on October filers. We're now mid July so keep that in mind! They're on Dec / Jan filers by now. The web page always runs about 3 months behind and the representatives on the phone just give out that same info, it isn't reliable or accurate.

Can I ask you January filers - I sent my documentation back in January, and then they asked for a G-325a in March (leading to us eventually get a PD set for June). We were under the impression G-325a was no longer needed, and the I-130a replaced this. Did you guys submit a G-325a with your main I-130 form?

Thanks!

I did send two G-325a (one for me and one for my husband) along with my I-130. However, the newer version of the I-130 (Feb 27, 2017) is different and doesn't require G-325a. I guess that since you originally submitted the I-130 before Feb 27, the G-325a was still needed.
