Congrats to everyone that has got the NOA 2

i got into the states on Friday, border control was fine and I had no issues, even tho I was so nervous about coming over.

Looking forward to spending the 4th with my husband.

Doesn't look like we will get our approval while I'm here, Nebraska seems to have slowed down again.

But the main thing is I get to spend some quality time with him.

Nice!! Yes quality time that I'm sure is much needed! Enjoy

Hi guys, Congrats to everybody who had been approved... I wanted to know do i have to add my married name in my paspoort ? Is it a most ? Would i Be in trouble if i stay with my maiden name ?

No, you don't have to change your name in your passport, you will not get in trouble for keeping your maiden name. Taking your husband's name isn't necessarily proof of bona fide marriage.

Ooh thank you, because it would take me months to wait on my new paspoort

I think that if you've legally changed your name that you have to also change your name on your passport.

I haven't changed my name yet for this reason, so I'm not 100% sure.

So maybe someone else can chime in

the overall advice is to call once a week for the first two weeks, after that you can start bothering them more often, but please avoid everyday....you never know whom you're dealing with. If she said two weeks then that's a good thing, because it can take much longer. Don't let impatience get the better of you now, just call once a week.

Sooooo agreed.  We are all trying to get thru a process and calls that are too early only distract NVC personnel from moving cases forward.  If they say 2 weeks, this is much better than the 6 weeks on the NVC website https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/nvc/immigrant-processing-faqs.html

according to larnar their case took 3 weeks and 21 days as the post stated, your up at two weeks, it's normal. Just wait a little while longer cause normally nvc says to call after 4 weeks.

Yup! That's pretty normal - as i said, it took me exactly three weeks with calls every few days. The last week or so we were told it would be given on the Friday that we got it and after we called the next few times we kept being told that. (We still called just in case there was any chance it sped up) but yea - at the moment seems to be taking 2-3 weeks.

which is much better than 6 or however many weeks it says it will take on the site !!

Get excited :) this part of the process seems much quicker and smoother than the long I-130 wait.

in the meantime- have your AOS and IV package completely ready to send (other than case number and IIN info)

and go through the sample PDF files of the ds-260 so you can collect all the info you need for it :)

My Priority Date is the day after yours so hopefully I can gage off when you hear anything back. It's a horrible feeling not knowing.
