VERY Important!! Please read this post. Could save you 11 weeks!!

Hello, for those of you who are about to start the NVC process or already have.. Please make sure you bookmark the following. I've created this because 1/3rd of our cases that are represented on our spreadsheet have received a checklist (like a RFE but for the NVC). Hopefully if you read this, it will reduce the chances of any of you from receiving one. Receiving a checklist can delay your case for 11 weeks (current processing time quoted by the NVC)..  Good luck!! :)

Hi guys!

Also a January filer and with our case on the Potomac service center. We are very anxious and sad at this point, we just called and they said they are still working on cases from Nov 2015!  Yes, 2015! Also they said it could take up to year and half!  I have noticed people from January have gotten their notice. Any ideas what could be going on?

Hello,

I just emailed my lawyer in regard to this. Her reply made me so disappointed too. She said this is an unfortunate and unfair that they are going backward and reviewing cases from 2015. It seems we have to be patient. I'm just happy I see people on this site getting their I-130 approved from January 2017. My PD is January 25th.

with my legal background in mind it's never smart to tell your client that it's unfair, let's keep in mind these 2015 applicants may or may not to their account have fault in this delay and also they need their case looked at. Your time is coming, the unfortunate thing is no-one knows how the system really works internally at USCIS, in the Netherlands this wouldn't fly, if the government is a mess we go to the judge or ombudsman to mitigate and no government body wants to pay a fine ordered by the judge based on existing law for being late in taking action in legal matters.

Yes - also try and feel lucky that your case is not taking or going to take that long (most likely) in the grand scheme of things!

I feel so much sympathy towards the people that have obviously been battleing this since 2015!! Oh my gosh - one year (which is how long it should take for CR1 ) is bad enough!

Always remneber to stay positive - spend waiting time preparing and organizing your documents - and count your blessings.

Best of luck :)

I submitted same, but my wife is not here so I couldn't share joint account. Today I went to Bank of America to add her to my account, they denied since they want here to be here physical. I submitted her passport copy/marriage certificate/photo of both of us. They are not telling me the reason for RFE even over phone and I didn't receive the letter yet so that I can prepare myself in advance.

Yeah to do the joint bank account she has to be there in person, so that's a bummer. I hope you receive the  RFE letter soon, it shouldn't have taken this long.

She has tourist visa, I was thinking her to bring here this month first week. I am so stressed since I saw my RFE status. Wish they could at least tell me the info so that I can start working on the docs that they are looking for.
