Last week protomac was on Dec 22 so this week people in first week of jan should get approved .. fingers crossed and positive energy :) ! Not too long now!

I'm not sure those dates and estimates are relevant anymore... they keep changing and going up and down.

Texas was at mid JAN a couple days ago, now it's back to late DEC !

The frustration is borderline unbearable... I'm starting to think that I won't be able to move in with my husband this year  :-/

I don't expect to have my residence until December or even January 2018, but I'm in Nebraska, that Gulag where files wander sadly for months and months between moans and sighs... :)

Ah Nebraska, home of... err, something I just can't put my finger on?

You're right, and we all know we're on the same boat. The absence of feed-back is taxing... I think I'll be a super happy camper and reboosted once things move onto the next stage!

I'm also a bit tired of constantly replying to family, friends and people in general that we're still waiting.

But that's how it is!

it's from starting Jun 1st 2017, doesn't say anything about back to back. So don't let it stress you.

https://www.google.nl/amp/s/techcrunch.com/2017/06/01/us-approves-social-media-background-checks-for-visa-applicants/amp/

it's a supplemental form to an initial visa application form, I would suggest when we hear something we hit to Google first and research the matter and settle our own mind/fears. Gotta stay in a good emotional place during this ordeal.

Thanks Yeonin. I would say familiarize ourselves with the new supplemental visa form because we have not yet applied for a visa. Our spouses have only petition for one and we are currently waiting on approval in order to apply for it. Once at NVC stage we will then need to apply for the immigrant visa by completing DS260. The new supplemental form did not specify immigrant or non immigrant. My foolish advice is to familiarize ourselves in the event we need to complete it.  It can be found in the link Yeonin posted. Have a good day all and it will be over soon.

I just went through the form and i realize that they copied a form used by the canadians and inserted the social media section and employment section

For those who have applied for Canadian visa there is a form that requires the applicant to list all their siblings, state whether alive or deceased, state location state occupation etc

Just another form to do background check as in they no longer want to do the check but for the applicant to provide the information and they verify rather than them actually digging up the skeletons in persons closets.

Being truthfully her is key to have the process move quickly. Download the form and start putting the information together some info goea back 15 years. Get a head start from now while we wait patiently.

I wonder if visajournery will be considered social media.

I Just looked up the documents such as police documents and criminal record documents that need to be submitted. Suddenly saw that if you have lived in another country for over 12 months you have to submit a record from that country also!!!

I lived in Japan and now I have to apply for a Japanese record which says it takes 2 - 3 MONTHS TO PROCESS!!!! oh my gosh!!! Here I was thinking I was near the finished line. I feel like I wasted time wasting.

Please make sure you check everything ahead of time! I wish I had known this months ago :(

"Quoting an unnamed State Department official, Reuters reported that the additional information would only be requested when the department determines that “such information is required to confirm identity or conduct more rigorous national security vetting.”

In other words if you know you're from a high risk country In regards to US national security, you need to ante up...and get your stuff right. And still the DOS will decide if such form is required so me and my legal mind say they will let you know if/when necessary issuing an RFE. People we all know that this form stems from the travel ban and all the crazy terrorist stuff that's going on at the moment. I'm not stressing over this, it's not the way to go.
