welcome to the Group! I have the same PD, hopefully we might hear something soon. Wow six years is a very long time!

Potomac service center, which Service center are yout?

Thank you! I am Potomac also! I keep reading that Potomac is a new center with quicker processing times so I'm grateful to be using this one.

My husband and I met online when we were teens so it took a while for us to finish up school and for one of us to make a good life for ourselves in our home country in order to bring the other over. I was able to accomplish that first, so we're bringing him to America!

02/2011 - Met online, ages 16 & 19.

04/2011 - Declared our love for each other.

06/2012 - He visits me in America for the first time.

12/2012 - I spend Christmas with him in Northern Ireland.

07/2013 - Try to visit him in Northern Ireland again, but denied entry.

07/2013 - He makes emergency trip to America and PROPOSES!!!

04/30/14 - We say "I do"!

~He makes several more visits to America over next couple of years while we establish careers and save money~

01/28/17 - I-130 mailed

01/30/17 - I-130 Received

02/03/17 - NOA1

Currently - Waiting patiently. <3

Hey guys and gals!

No news to report on noa2 yet! Still waiting... Patiently :)

Booked in for my DPT booster vaccine on Thurs (eek don't like needles!) And then I'll have to get an MMR vaccine and finally I'll have to work out getting my hepB and hepA privately it seems as they aren't offered on NHS! didn't realise the hepB and hepA are done in courses i.e it takes a few months to complete them... Should have got this sorted earlier!! So really, long story short... Check out what vaccines you're going to need sooner rather than later!

Are you getting the Hepatitis vaccines for the purpose of the visa? I don't think they are required.

Yep... They appear to be on the list on the USCIS website and CDC website! I haven't booked in for them yet so if I don't need them that would be great but all I can find online is telling me that they're required.

I was looking at the checklist on the London US embassy website, and according to that you need Hep A if you are under 24 months, and Hep B if you are under 18.

Here's the link:

Unless of course I'm looking at the wrong thing lol.

Oh cool thank you! I didn't actually think of looking at the London page! I just looked on the general immigration sites. I might send Knightsbridge an email to make 100% certain because I don't want to show up to discover I've missed out something I could have sorted months before lol.

Thanks for sharing that info!

You're welcome! I must admit I had to double check after seeing your post, lol.

Yes, definitely check with Knightsbridge, better safe than sorry! :)

Apparently the list is different by country i think, where i'm from i need heb B for adult, heb A for child, and a whole bunch of i dont know what they are, do we need to do all those or is it up to the medical check up result?

You're right, it could be country specific.

I think you should check on the Hong Kong embassy/consulate website, or even consult the place where you will get your medical done.

You might not end up needing them all, but it's best to check. :)

Did anyone planned how they will be submitting their tax return for 2016 after getting I-130 approved since filling as married for 2016 tax. I got an extension from IRS as it didn't let me file as married since my wife don't have SSN/ITIN. I believe we need to submit the TAX return for 2016.

If your spouse doesn't have any income, you can file as Married Filing Separately, and write NRA (for Non-Resident Alien) under the SSN field for your spouse. That's what I did. Note that you cannot e-file if you do this because the IRS' algorithm auto-rejects the return, so you need to mail everything.

If your spouse has income, you technically need to report it to the IRS. You could always do what I did and then get an ITIN or wait until your spouse has the SSN and amend the return.

We applied for ITIN when my husband filed his taxes... I had to go to the US consulate in n.ireland and get a certified copy of my passport and I mailed that to him. In the end he filed married filing separately because either way he was set to take quite a large hit and the separately was slightly less than jointly. Silly system considering we were only married for like 3 days of that tax year!! Anyway... He sent off the ITIN stuff anyways not sure why but he did haha.

Also, officially hit the 4 month mark yesterday since NOA1... fingers and toes crossed for an approval v soon! Even though it'll arrive through snail mail. I've signed up to the my USPS thing to see when the letter is actually in the system 'cause at least that will a cut a few days off the wait lol.
