Hi Everyone!

My NOA2 came in the mail today!  My priority date at Texas Service Center was January 4.  Hoping more approvals are on the way for y'all.  Now it's time to focus more on the next steps!

:)

Congratulations!!!

hi all. I think it is true that K3 helps to approve I 130 at earliest.  I applied for K3 after getting my NOA1 of I 130 in mail. (Approx. 25 days later of I 130 sent date). In surprise, after another 25 days more, my I 130 got approved. ( i am feb, 2017 filer). So got notice via email and message that K3 got terminated, no update for I 130 at all. Then directly received NOA 2 for I 130 in mail. So I 130 status did not updated online. Then received official letter of K3 terminated, and then when they sent my case to nvc status updated for I 130 online.

Note: was at TSC, K3 also at texas.  Usually they sent K3 at the same place where I 130 goes. so process is more faster

best of luck to all.

Congrats!!! Did you get a letter or txt/email notification?

Thanks to everyone for the support!  It is nice to see the process moving and I feel it is a good sign for more approvals to come for everyone here.  A letter arrived today via snail mail.  My case on the USCIS site has not been updated as approved.

Thank you!  Yes it seems so!  I actually had sent off for a K3 visa for my spouse at the same time even though I knew that more than likely the cases would be merged.  However it didn't cost extra so I figured it didn't hurt.  On the 19th the USCIS site noted the K3 (129) as terminated.  We were hoping that meant that we would soon hear back on the I-130.  Interestingly, the date of the I-130 approval is April 19th so it was approved the same day that USCIS updated about the K3.  As others have mentioned on these forums, our paper copy of the I-130 approval arrived before any updates were made for that application on both the USCIS tracker and the tracker app.

So you didn't pay to file for K3?

Correct, there was no charge for applying for the K3 once you have the NOA1 for the I-130.  I guess partly because they terminate it anyways once they see that there is an I-130 to process.

Congrats!

This is giving me some hope... We're (only) 81 days in here, and the VJ estimate keeps bouncing up and down, this is a bit nerve wracking.

Also, I found it a bit annoying to hear that the USCIS tracking website doesn't seem to be working that well, snail mail before electronic notification, I mean come on!

Yes, keep the hope strong!  It was driving me crazy watching the VJ estimates, USCIS estimates, USCIS case information, and the app all the time and here comes the letter before anything!  It is interesting that the snail mail beats the technology but I guess updating the online system that we have access to is delayed.  Keep an eye on your mail as it can happen at anytime! Nice to see them moving along :)

How would I file for K3?

Posted

1- Now i wish i had have filed k3 lol! Never realised it was free if you had filed 1-130.

2- The fact people are reporting that they received snail mail before the case updated electronically is such a pain! I check the case status like every day and now it would seem that's pointless... Mannnnnn they need to step up their game.

It seems like it is true that they just terminate the K3 cases when they are working on the I-130s.  I submitted it once I got NOA1.  Here is the process: https://www.uscis.gov/family/family-us-citizens/k3-k4-visa/k-3k-4-nonimmigrant-visas

Does anyone think at this stage it's worth filing for the k3 just to see if it can speed things up? Or just not bother seeing as we're all maybe only like a month away from approval? I wish i had have known about this sooner... Every little helps :jest:

Whether or not it helps I am not 100% sure but I don't think it necessarily hurts anything.  However you are hopefully not far from approval anyways!

Hello Everyone,

Another month down very soon...

And still puzzled on how the Service centers function :-s

I have noticed that several European couples (especially from UK and Germany) have had their petitions adjudicated pretty quickly at TSC, makes you wonder how the country of origin is an important factor?

I am truly happy for those who get their NOA2 so quickly, and also, admittedly, a tad bit frustrated...

84 days in the process, hanging in there!

And just 2 days away from a one week visit of my gorgeous husband :-)

Don't the UK and Germany have DCF available?

We are in France and the petition went to Nebraska, we are in for a bit Of wait.
