I'm not sure if a case from The Philippines can distort the statistics, somehow, cases from there show an awesome speed in the process, I don't know why, but the incidence is quite high. Of course I'm so happy for all of them, I'm just commenting the incidence.

Yeah I find it somehow a bit hard about my statistics or timeline but will try again.

thanks cadizfornia!

Congratulations @GheC!! You are now moving onto the NVC. There are a lot of great resources on this site that will give you all the information you need about what documents to collect and how to submit them. I recommend reading this -- http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

and this ---http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/James's_Shortcuts

and from the State Department, this -- https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/approved/contact.html

Lastly, the NOA2 looks a lot like the NOA1, it's just printed on nicer paper. It basically says your case was approved. :) You want to hold onto it, but its not really asked for/needed later on in the process. Your next step is assembling your financial documents for AOS and your supporting documents for the IV application. You should be prepared to call the NVC in about 1 week -- to see if they have received your case yet. Sometimes service centers are a little slow forwarding on cases, so don't be surprised if they say they haven't gotten it yet. Once they (NVC) have your case, they take up to 2 weeks to assign you a new NVC case number. For the rest of the steps, please read the guides.

**Also** NVC call center is a bit of a mess.... sometimes you will have to call 10-15 times in one day to get through. You will then likely be on hold for 20 minutes or more. Just know that if you can't get through, to keep trying in 5-10 minutes.

Oh thanks! This will help me a lot ☺️ Been reading a lit about the NVC process this past few days, I hope we will do it right ?

Hey, this could important if true!

A good friend told me that, once they where already living in the US, an attorney in NY told her why they didn't apply for a change of status from a tourist visa during one of the frequents visits that the husband had to do during the process??

His husband (Italian) was going and coming several times to Europe, passing 3 months every time and then returning a couple of weeks with friends. Accordingly with this attorney, it was possible that, once she (who is the american citizen) was already working in the states, the husband could enter the country as a tourist, and then apply for a change of status, so he can remain with the family, and the process seems to relatively easier and shorter.

Anybody have heard about this possibility?

Yes, I've heard of this. But it is very difficult to pull off. You have to prove with the change of status that there was no intent to come into the country as a tourist only to do a change of status. They obviously want you to go through the I-130 channel of immigrating. If they were to find out that you came in as a tourist with intentions to change status by means of marriage, there could be serious consequences. The likes of which I personally don't feel are worth it.

That's what I thought...

I think it was going to be very difficult to convince the officers that I only intended to spend the holidays with my wife and the kids... Although sometimes my kids behave in ways that I would like to see them from time to time... :D

Hey everybody!

Just checking in - no news on the visa front and VJs predicted approval date is all over the place so just waiting it out and checking the case status every day incase :)

Arrived in the states yesterday evening to spend 2 weeks with the husband (the fact I'm writing this at 5am is a sure sign that I'm jetlagged lol!) I havent seen my husband since the wedding! Well... We were married for two weeks then he had to go back home. Very easy time at customs, i told the officer i was visiting my husband who is a US citizen and no questions of potential immigration visas ever arose lol... Straight through! (This was in dublin's pre clearance btw) big relief but i reckon if i get over to visit for the summer months it may be a little trickier because hopefully by that stage I'll definitely be logged in a system and at NVC!! I assume that gets attached to your information as a travelling person... Right? Like it would show on their system when they check my passport etc.

Anyway, have a great weekend everyone. Here's hoping someone gets an approval within the next month to start the ball rolling :)

hi all, hope y'all are doing fine! I recently started using the case tracker & searcher for US immigration that you can find in the apple Appstore which you can use multiple times a day and in my perspective gives you more info than the app found on Android devices. By all means... I'm in no way, shape or form promoting Iphones...... the only reason I have one is because it's my company phone but it finally comes in handy...😆...I'm using my Good old Samsung s7 to share this bit of info with you all. Happy easter in advance!

hope you've had a happy easter as well. I'm not hopeful for the Potomac peeps like me, but I am happy that others are getting approval, because it's a headache and it causes alot of unnecessary stress to those that have filed in 2016.

Yes. Coincidentally my cousin married a non-USC three days after me, neither of us knew of the other's plans. She is doing AOS, and I was shocked it was possible. But in our case, we weren't eligible and not worth the risk.
