That's not the correct date that says AS IF DECEMBER 31, 2016 not the are processing December.

They have not corrected the dates yet. It's all July 2016 for all service centers and that doesn't seem right, cause people that have applied in December and November have received NOA2 in Jan and the beginning of Feb.

I saw that as well, but another member pointer out that all the service centers had the processing date as of July 2016, so we're thinking that's not correct. Let's see if it changes this week.  Because I had seen that for Potomac for example they were already sending NOA2 for cases filed in November 2016, earlier last week.

Exactly... the site it likely wrong right now guys...

Does anyone know what month Nebraska service center is on? I'm a February filler

There seems to be a big back up at most USCIS centers (notable exception is Texas). Its hard to say exactly where they are because their site is terribly maintained and they have recently been sending a lot of cases to other service centers to re-balance the workload. I would sit tight for a bit and hope for the best! It could be several more months for you - hopefully faster though!

So in preparation for the NVC I have almost all the documents together. But I was wondering if we can just send in a regular photocopy of our passport or if I need to get a certified copy from the government. What's my fellow Canadian doing for this? Can anyone else shed some light on this??

Thanks!

Regular photo copy of all docs is fine for NVC. The only things that need to be originals (with ink signed signatures) are your I-864 doc(s) for AOS

I recently filed form I-130 to get immigration visa for my wife from Bangladesh.

Is it possible to expedite by seeking help from a congressman. I know him fairly well and he should be able to assist. Is it possible for him to help?

gulabg - Expedites are granted only for special circumstances and I don't think that getting a congressman involved (unless you have been waiting longer than established wait times, which is 6 months for USCIS) will help a whole lot. I would search here on VJ for others experience with this, since I don't have any. I know that its better to submit some kind of evidence for your hardship/special need... good luck!

So I know everyone is anxious to get a handle on how long you may be waiting at a USCIS service center -- their website (especially right now) is rubbish... I would not go by those "official" dates. In my experience its poorly maintained and that is compounded by the fact that right now they are re-balancing work load and sending many cases to other centers to keep them under the 6 month max processing time. The whole thing is a bit of a black box!

For reference, I am a September filer, and while I got through Texas center very fast, there are still numerous people from my month (at various centers -- Nebraska seems to be the worst) still waiting to be sent to the NVC.

I think the best way to keep track of where your center is and guesstimate where you case might be is to do 2 things. #1 is to create a timeline here on VJ (this will help make the stats more accurate/relevant for everyone) -- and then VJ will give you a personal estimate for processing relative to other users on the site.

#2 is to download the USCIS Case Tracker & Searcher app (for smartphones) by Stephen Aldous. There you can enter your USCIS case number and see what stage you're case is officially at - you can also use the tracker to look at previous cases filed and see where they are in the system as well... people in my group have been using this to more accurately predict what month service centers are actually processing. Its not an exact science, but it can help. If anything, it makes you feel a little more in control of the situation! :)

Well in my case they did, it's inconsistent how they work at the different service centers. But the letter is what you will need in the end, that's give you your exact priority date.

Ah so they will send a letter on top of the email and text? To petitioner's address right? How's your case going, and what can we do between NOA1 and NOA2?

Yes the letter gets send to the petioner's address, I would suggest to ask a  familymember/friend to check his mailbox at home. Well it's been only 21 days since we've filed and the estimation time for adjudication is in may, so I'm also playing the waiting game lol. In the meantime you could start preparing the affidavit of support. Msheppburn has a good guideline I think a few pages back on this topic.

Well the USCIS website has update its info on processing times following the previous bug fiasco. Potomac is showing a date of JUNE!! for  i-130 with USC spouse... Yet on this site the most recent noa2 dates have been from sept/Oct/Nov! This is madness, how can they be giving such inaccurate information? USCIS is infuriating

Makes you wonder how efficient they really are, today I've sent them a tweet about the messyness. They're having a QA tomorrow on twitter well. I wish we could tweet them to insanity. This is frustrating.
