POE didn't request my sealed envelope

Hi all, I am aware that when arriving in the USA on the K1 I should have handed my envelope over to the CBP however, they didn't ask for it and the queue In the airport was 2 hours long so by the time I got to the desk I had totally forgotten about it.

They told me the I-94 is simply another stamp in my passport that pratically looks the same as the rest of them.

 

Has anyone ever experienced not handing that envelope in and what on earth should I do now?

 

Please help me I'm going to stress about this for a long time.

Look up deferred inspection location on cbp.gov and go there to turn in your envelope and confirm I-94 has been done right. If your POE airport is close enough you can go there as well.

What did you say was your reason for entering? They may have admitted you as a tourist - you can check this by pulling up your i94 online, and looking at the class of admission.

You're going to have to return to a deferred inspection site, hand over the envelop to the CBP, and get an officer to admit you correctly.

Kind of similar thing happened with us - they forgot to take fingerprints of my fiancee. We returned to JFK and were out in 10-20min
