My fiancé had his interview on 9/28/16 in US consulate Baghdad . They took his passport and said nothing but everything was fine.  Our status updates are the same day of interview than to 10/4 and  10/7, it changed to ready and changed from immigrant to non-immigrant and on 10/17 it went back on AP. On 11/22 we recieved an email from the counsulate requesting his previous passports held and the information. Does it mean it is close to being issued? Are they working on it. Although we had update changes but we are still in AP . I'm so frustrated . Any feedback is appreciated. Anyone who went in similar situation please share it.

It means they are working on it- doing extra background/ security checks on his previous travel history probably, as they asked for his old passport.
