Hi everyone! So my husband is from Honduras here illegally and he just received the approval of the i601a on January 17th, 2017 YAY! So I have a couple of questions if anybody has any input it would be of great help. After the approval how long does it typically take for the appointment to be scheduled in Honduras? Do we just wait now for NVC to contact us? Is there any more documents we should get ready for his appointment in Honduras? We have two small children (both under 3) and we plan on going together as a family. Will I be allowed in with him during his interview in Honduras? What kind of questions do they ask at the interview? What could make him not get approved for his visa in Honduras? How long after the appointment did you receive your Visa? Please, any and all input is appreciated! He has been gone from the country for almost 10 years and we have been legally married for 2 years and together for 5. thank you!

If you dont mind me asking, what did you use for your hardships?

Hello,

Congratulations on your husband's recent approval. My wife and I just fired our scumbag attorney who did nothing for us and I am now trying to do as much research as possible before we hire a new attorney. Would you be able to give me a quick summary of the forms that you submitted and in what order they were submitted for your husband's case. I understand that we need to submit a i-601, a i-130 and a few others. my wife has the DACA status but essentially she's here illegally and entered without inspection.I am a resident but will be applying to become a citizen soon. From your experience, does one have to hire an attorney or do you think one can fill out the necessary form to send to immigration, any information that you can provide is helpful. Thank you.

Erick

In my experience I think that it depends on how organized you are. I personally would not have been able to do it on my own. Maybe as far as I 130 and nvc stage yes but the i601a is a very complicated waiver to get. You really have to know what they are looking for and it all depends on the person reviewing it and how they interpret your hardship. We didn't have alot to begin with but our lawyer gave us ideas that I would have never thought of. we tried every route there was and we still got an RFE but thank God our lawyer was able to again point us in a direction and it was enough for them to approve us 3 days later after sending in our response.

Hello. The next step is to fill out forms DS-260 and I-864 affidavit of support. Visit the consular electronic application center website. But if you have a attorney  they can do that for you. Then after that you have to wait for your appointment.

Hello everyone, I am from Bangladesh. My mother-in-law in US citizen and applied for my husband in F1 category and his is priority date April 2007. We got married 2014, 4 month before the interview and he was denied. My mother-in-law applied for I-601 waiver with our marriage certificate. My husband's I-601 waiver was approved in September 2017. Our attorney asked to wait for 2 more years since our case is transfer to F3 category. When he checked his status online through his receipt number, its only showing case was received. Can anyone tell me that why its showing only received and what should we do now?
