Hello. I am a December 2016 filer but had a question about your fiancée changing her name after you get married. Was curious if this had to be done before you apply for adjustment of status or can you do it while you wait to get interview for adjustment of status? Didn't know if there is a lag time from when your marriage certificate is processed with new last name. Any help in the matter would be appreciated

If she wants to use a married name from now on, she should've filled her aos forms with it. The marriage certificate is document proof for her name change.

if she didn't do that, it MAY be possible to have it changed through a service request through the phone, in the biometrics appointment or at the interview.

You ou guys Will have to ask and see

good luck

Ok thanks. We are currently still waiting on a NOA-2 so we have a ways to go but just thought I would ask that question for the future. Thanks for your prompt response.

Oh, so you're still going through the i129f part.

good luck and make sure she fills up her paperwork with the desired name and she will be good to go
