I got the following email from CRIS:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On March 30, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

When will my card arrive anyone? After the card how do I apply for a social security card in Dallas? Will they give it to me right there?

Wow, congratulations! What status did you adjust from?

From F1 student visa. I was married 5 years ago but at the time did not see the need to adjust. After we learnt about D.O.R.A we got an apartment in Dallas just to file. It all worked out really well.

Your card will arrive as soon as it does. Sometime in the next one to never weeks. :) (hopefully sooner)

You will need to apply for your Social Security account, at the SSA office and form S-5. See the SSA Guide here at VJ.

By the time your card comes, your details *should* be updated by USCIS & you can get your SS number at the office. The card is then mailed to you. If your status can't be verified, they will take your application and get in touch with you.
