Fiance at the Interview?

Hi guys,

My fiance has been planning to fly to London to be with me at for my K1 interview. But I was wondering - is it helpful for him to do that? Will he be interviewed too?

I want him to be there for support etc, but will he be allowed in my interview or do I have to go in by myself?

Sorry if this has been answered on other threads. I couldn't find anything about it.

Thanks!

Harry

I went to the window with my husband for his CR1 interview.  Some people have said that they were told they couldn't go to the window.  Not only was I allowed to the window, but she even asked me a couple of questions.

So even if he can't 'attend' the interview itself with you, it might put you at ease with him there waiting with you or even just outside the embassy.

Good luck!

As this is a London specific case, there is not exactly anything that will be helpful to your case by having your fiancé there. I believe it is allowable of course - you have to arrange for it as far as I'm aware or else they won't be getting in. My FiL went with my husband to his interview and waited at a coffee shop nearby since he could not enter for moral support. You're going to find that London is not difficult dealing with, and the interview will be a very brief chat with some simple questions. The only thing that will be helpful by having your fiancé there is merely to you on a personal level, to ease nerves or give personal support. Note this is London specific. It just doesn't work the same as other embassies where having the spouse or fiancé there would work to a benefit.

Like Yuna said, it would be nice to have your fiancé there for moral support but it really isn't necessary and you wouldn't be at a disadvantage if you didn't. I'd save the time and money your fiancé would spend on doing this on a nice holiday for the two of you when you're together forever :)
