Okay, I have read all of the posts about the red flags and I am really terrified now of the visa interview. I am scared now that I don't have enough information to submit or the things that I submit are not going to be good enough. Can you guys offer any ''extras'' on what to take. Like how many pictures to submit...how many letters from friends/family to try to aquire. Any other evidence that I may could get. My computer got a virus and airheaded me didn't think to save the IM's before cleaning off the hard drive so I lost all of those--ugh. I feel like I am doomed now. Please guys tell me everything that you took/or will be taking to show proof of the marriage/relationship.

Andre took the scrapbooks I mentioned. He took an exact copy of all the stuff I had previously mailed in with the 129F which included phone bills, plane tickets, event tickets, ring reciept, and some pics, etc. I had sent him money on two occasions, so he took those Western Union recipts. I, being the hopeless romantic that I am, sent him a homemade card every single day. he took a box of those. Honestly, the guy looked at a handful of pics in the book and that was it. We were overprepared. I recommend better safe then sorry.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Do you have phone records, saved e-mails, letters and cards? Keep everything you have, and then start again. I didn't know that all of this stuff was needed until after we had been talking for about 10 months, so I didn't have a single conversation before then. Luckily I saved the few e-mails and cards. Seriously if you don't have any significant red flags then more than likely they will hardly look at anything. They key is to take a serious hard look at any red flags, not just the ones mentioned. Be prepared, and prepare your husband to answer questions concerning those red flags. Take in proof of everything, even if it looks insignificant.

Sadly, the best way to prepare for the interview is to have the knowledge that it is better to address the red flags with the initial petition. They can't send something back if it was approved with the knowledge of the red flags.

I'm not sure that the onus of proof of the relationship is the same for the ones filing for a K-3 or CR1 as it is for those who are not yet married filing for the K-1. Does anyone know if people have actually been turned away for lack of proof even when they're already married?

I have saved all of our im's and I have the phone bills and pictures but I'm not gonna go nuts about it all and print each and every chat session out. For one thing the chat logs are pretty darn empty since we use the microphone and not for nuthin' but anyone can create a fake log if they want to. You'd just have to know what font, etc. to use and type in fake dates, etc. so if it's that easy to fake, and *I* know that, don't *they* know that too, and how good can that be really then?

I'd say phone records and pictures of you both together and with the family are the biggest proof, but that's just me.

Yes, I know of several married couples that were denied, me included.

I don't know about any other IM program, but we used yahoo. I found that they were satisfied just seeing the dates that you talk, and you can print that up directly from the message archive. I wish I had known that earlier because I printed only 1 or 2 of our conversations per month and it was still huge...even with headsets.

See if it were me I wouldn't even look at that as proof. Good thing I'm not a CO!!! I've been an auditor on and off for several years and who's to say you didn't just type it up yourselves? And not even that but who's to say the userid's are really you and your husband? It just doesn't seem like as hard evidence as say pictures of you both together with dates on them or with family or phone records.

That's shocking to me to be denied even when you're married for the reason of lack of proof!! I hope we don't have trouble!

I know one CO in Casa who did say that Ims were no good as proof because you can type them up yourself. I'm gonna send 'em anyway.

Most of the evidence that a legitimate couple can use can be fabricated. Write some emails, make some phone calls, etc. I think standing alone IMs are weak but in the total collection may only add to the strength of the evidence. We had no chat log at all because we never chatted via computer.

For the OP - Jade- don't panic. Write a brief note for the consulate regarding the crash of your computer and the lost of the old chat records. If you can contact your messenger company to see if they have acess to these files, do that. Even if they respond no, you will have a record you made the attempt. Then attach this note and any supporting evidence to the chat logs you do have.

If you would liek to see the letter style i used to send to the consulate regarding lost photos pm me.

Lasty- do not panic. This is not going to necessarily cause you a problem. But you are smart to try to fill in holes you have in your time together. Be prepared.

I always believe better safe than sorry.

I sent in quite a bit of proof with the initial petition because I believed then (and I believe now) that ALL the CO has to make their decision on is what you provide them in the initial petition. The items we included then were the envelopes w/cancelled stamps to show when we sent each other packages and letters, emails, chat transcripts, all the proof of meeting (train tickets, air tickets, receipts for changing money in Maroc (since the bank put my passport number on it), pictures), and a copy of a massive phone bill.

As for the interview, my husband brought a 6 inch binder that had all of our chat transcripts, emails, e-cards, etc for a 6 month period, letters my aunt had sent him, letters I had sent him, etc. I told him to forget his Moroccan sensibility and make sure to offer to show the CO whatever he would like. I am proud of him because he did do this. :star: We spent time before his interview making sure he knew EVERYTHING that was in the petition. I knew that is where the majority of the questions would come from (and it was very very true).

I think the best words of advice are to expect the unexpected. What we thought would be the main subject of questioning turned out to be off -- the CO was much more fascinated in where he learned his English and how he became so fluent (he asked so much about this that my husband was really worried after the interview).
