2015 tax return (amended increased salary )

There is the question. I normally did not meet the requirement with 2015 tax return, However, I made an amendment to qualify the requirements. I have increased my total income to 21K to meet k1 visa requirements and just in case for Green Card. I own a small business and 2015 was not good but still I had to increase my total income to become a sponsor. My CPA handle it and I have the copy of 1040 with schedule C. Plus I have 12 months bank statement which have close to 30K (ending December 2016)  I am in Turkey right now with my fiancee and there is no way I can get IRS transcripts. (To login requires code that was sent to cell phone in U.S ) At the same time U.S  Ankara embassy does NOT accept IRS transcript.

How did you retroactively earn money?  Did you lie on your original taxes or lie on the amendment?

I did not lie any of them. I just did not have money to pay them for 2015 tax. I just made an amendment and increased my salary. A big check was sent. Do you think amended tax return 1040 with schedule C and bank statements will be okay at the interview? Thanks.

I think any competent interviewing officer would catch something like that. Basically, you just amended your tax return to fluff up your self-employment income to qualify. I'm curious to know what explanation was entered on the amendment as to the reason for it; If I were you, I'd be very prepared to explain that situation.

 

To answer your question, take the complete/entire tax return (including all schedules and attachments) and bank statements.
