Transfered from Nebraska to California

Arghh... Why did my case get transfered? It's going to be forever plus a day in California before it goes on to Montreal which takes another forever plus another forever! Our "wedding" is September 1st, but now that it's in California it seems to me like we won't be able to live together for over a year! Granted, I can take solace in the fact that my fiancee lives only 7.4 miles from me, but this process is just so arduous.

They really need to reform the immigration process. I can see why we have so many illegals.

Just had to rant a bit, sorry.

All K-1, K-3 & CR-1/IR-1 cases that go to NSC and TSC get transferred to CSC. It's been the norm for a while so we have no choice. For now the average wait between NOA1 and NOA2 for CSC filers is between 3-5 months.

All I-130 Family based, and I-129F Fiance(e) petitions sent to NSC and TSC are forwarded to CSC, they have been for quite some time now.

Also never set wedding dates around the visa process, there is no predicting what hang-ups that can and do happen at the USCIS, NVC, and Consulates.

Many do a mock wedding no legal paperwork before the visa, and then just do a legal one and visit the judge when they finally do get the visa.

I should have been more sensitive to what others have to go through. I wasn't aware that only CSC and VSC process the I-129Fs. We actually put off filing for the visa because before I found this site I saw the 3-5 month estimation, but didn't realize that's only for the USCIS Service Center portion.

We take it for granted living in a border town, because it is so easy to cross, generally, and the differences aren't that great, but we still have to go through the same process as everyone else.

It's alright. Patience is a virtue, and this process sure does test it.
