London Medical Fee increased!

Yeah, don't jump for joy yet!!

You have to remember that I'm only a bit of the way through the process!!! Most importantly the list I gave before does not include AOS -adjustment of status! That's a ton of money and I'm not even close to thinking about those steps yet. Maybe someone a bit farther down the line can give some information about that.

Also, if we didn't live in London we'd have to pay to travel to London for the interview and for the medical -so if you aren't close to London keep that in mind too. That can add a huge sum!!

I'm never sure if some people are adding the travels they have spent to see their sweethearts when they quote how much it costs. Personally, I do not think that adding plane tickets to visit should be included in the costs of getting a K-1 Visa. It's true that you should/need to spend that money to be in the type of relationships that we are in, but at the same time, it has nothing to do with the actual k-1 process.

Dave and I both live in London so we don't have any of those worries anyway!

Just for reference, I've tried and am trying to include everything in the list that we spend money on for the K-1. For instance, if I did call the 1.20/min line, I would include that....etc. :)

Also theres the interview of either 60 pounds or $100, however you want to pay.

And your right about travel fees mine were higher.

Then with AOS I just spent:

$395 for the green card application and biometrics.

$170 for Employment authorization.

And then theres Advancecd Parole (So you can leave the country and come back before your green card), I didn't apply for this but thats another $170/180 or so.

I didn't apply for it cause I can't afford to travel back to the UK yet.

They are proposing fee increases for AOS for this year, but there are talks of this not happening now. I'm confused on where they stand with that right now.

And ofcourse, when your K-1 and you do AOS, you get a 2 year conditional green card, so then after 2 years you need to apply to have the conditions removed and get a ten your green card.

And then ofcourse, theres citizenship later down the line if you want it :P
