According to my calculation, you should get your first status change today or tomorrow.....but again USCIS works in "miraculous" ways. Who knows?

When I looked at Fania & Nelson's timing, their green card was "being produced" about two weeks after their approval date, and it was mailed about three weeks after their approval date.  I'm placing my bet on a new style card for anyone approved after April 18th, but those of us in the first half of April MIGHT get an old card.  I just hope they don't put all of us on hold until May 1st!!!!

Sorry to burst any bubble but even those approved after April 18th may still get the old card. They are saying they have to first exhaust the old card stock.

"Some Green Cards and EADs issued after May 1, 2017, may still display the existing design format as USCIS will continue using existing card stock until current supplies are depleted. Both the existing and the new Green Cards and EADs will remain valid until the expiration date shown on the card."

Hm.  Do you think they are printed centrally?  Or it another case of East Coast/West Coast?

I did look at the return address of Julie's approval letter, and it was St. Alban's (VSC).

I think the cards are produced centrally but certainly not in just one location. It seems that way since it looks like the processing office have to "order" the card after a case is approved. At least, I know USCIS has been contracting production of cards to General Dynamics for a couple of years back. I hope everyone who wants the newly designed card gets it. lol. Those who file N-400 will probably only have their GC for about 1 year before they part with it anyway :)

I know...That's why I'm not making a fuss about it. I actually prefer the old design - It looks more like an official government issued document (IMO). I loved the optical stripe on the back (not on the new). The new design looks more like a fun pass to some ...I don't know...somewhere.
