Hi everyone,

I just dialed through a Tier 2 officer and learnt that my case is still pending with no approvals. I have a few travels coming up in the next few months, one for next month. I need some guidance here - a lot of people mentioned that the one year extension letter begins from the green card, which mine expires in July. But the Tier 2 officer recommends that I get an extension from the field office either through another six-month extension letter or a stamp. I'm not sure if I can trust her entirely because she kept hurrying me to hang up. What should I do now? Get an infopass? The drive to my local field office is two hours...

My husband is traveling for work abroad next week which is after his letter expiration date but before GC + 1 expiration date.  I'll let you know if they let him back in the country. . .:wacko:

Hahaha sounds good! I just made an Infopass appointment as well - just in case.

Either way, I just had the weirdest Tier 2 call ever. She told me she would put in a service request for me since it has been one year since the case has been pending but she didn't give me a case number to follow up. The only thing she said as a follow up is the office will send me a letter by mail to tell me what's going on. Is that even possible? Anyway, on my travel issue, she said the office will also give me a six month extension letter on top of the one year I have. But if I'd like I can go get the stamp since it's more official. I've never heard about the additional six month extension letter. I am looooooooooost.

I believe it is best to leave the country with the extension after infopass appointment. We are all close to the end of the wait now and personally I wouldn't risk crossing the border. The reason I say it, in addition to the current political scenario, is that I know people who got stuck in the past. Now, those people were on different visas but I still would rather play it safe.

Ugh. NOA date of 4/15. Haven't heard anything yet. Getting nervous!

NOA 4/7 here. Also nothing, but I don't think it's time to get nervous yet. If we don't hear anything by June is when we should start worrying, while this is still totally expected processing time.

So once I get an Infopass appointment, can I get the I-551 stamp on the day of the appointment?

No way to get infopass appointment before he leaves.  It is what it is.

Sorry to hear that. I always tell people not to panic. I know its easy to say but I've also been there before. Can you tell us what the RFE says?
