I'm sending my RFE today. Since the address is showing street address in Vermont, I'm going to use Fedex.

Hopefully they will process this as fast as possible.

I'm also going to make an infopass in May, hoping to get a stamp other than my passport because I cannot extend my passport.

Good Luck!

Hi all, new poster, long time lurker here and I just wanted to share my recent experience.

I just came back from an infopass appointment to get my I-551 stamp. My I-751 was received on April 7, 2016, so it's been over a year now. Nothing surprising for VSC, I guess.

At the appointment, I was told that I'm going to have to do an interview. When I said that I didn't get the interview letter, I was told to check online if my mailing address was correct by filling AR-11. However, now that I look at it, AR-11 is a form to change mailing address which I don't really need to do. I never moved since I got to the US and I received all previous USCIS mail fine.

I'm kind of unsure what to do now. I guess I could file AR-11 and just put in the same address even though we didn't move, but that sounds like it could introduce a lot of new problems. Any ideas?

Also, here are my dates:

4/don't remember/16 - mailed package

4/7/16 - USCIS received our I-751 package

5/16/16 - Biometrics taken

4/17/17 - Infopass appointment for I-551 stamp

My advice is to call USCIS and ask to speak to a tier 2 agent on the basis that they are the ones who can confirm the address on file (I had to do this myself during my AOS application). A tier 1 agent will not be able to confirm your address. If the tier 2 agent confirms the correct address tell them you were told a request for interview letter had been sent but you haven't received it and ask them to confirm. They should be able to tell you if this is indeed the case and when it was sent.

Good Luck!

@Private One @St.James-One

Thank you so much for your responses! I'm feeling so much better.

yes, I'm a waiver. I spoke to my attorney. She asked me to send her the document from the bank which shows that I was authorized user on his account, 2015 taxes (I already sent 2014) and she also told me that written affidavits would help. I just don't know if friends of my ex husband would do that for me. When I moved here I didn't have anybody. His friends were only people who I knew.

I also filed as a divorce waiver. I sent 5 affidavits from the following:

-my ex husband himself (know this isn't always possible but you could ask!)

-my mother confirming her knowledge of the relationship

-one of his close friends who also knew me through him

-one of my close friends who knew him through me

-our dance instructors at a local dance studio who only knew the 2 of us through their profession

I'm not sure how helpful this is but try to think of people even if they met you on a professional basis but who you had a good relationship with and just ask if they would be willing. An accountant you consulted with. A doctor you saw together. There are templates for example affidavits online which make it super easy for people to write the affidavit with relevant information without too much effort themselves.

I wish you the best, I know filing with a waiver is an increased stress due to the uncertainty but please know that you CAN be approved!

Good Luck!

Take @Skribs advice and confirm address and that a letter for interview was sent. The information you received at InfoPass may or may not be accurate. Many have reported getting conflicted information. What you're told can vary widely from day to day and throughout the different departments.

If the 2 tier officer confirm what you were told at InfoPass, take the appropriate steps to correct your address and prepare for the interview. If you are told something different, call back until you hear the same story at least twice.
