Oh wow, then I am actually a March filer not April cos it was received in April but I sent off my packet in March

Actually, you're an April filer. As Sukie said, it goes by the date your package was received (date on NOA).

I'm April 26. Since after hearing of the first April approval I've been waiting on the "postman" every day like a kid waiting on Santa at Christmas Eve. Can't wait to go home and check the mailbox.

Have people noticed that the website not update even when they received letters? I just want to see if checking the website daily is a reliable source.

Thought I'd pop in real quick.  (taking a break has done my soul good!)

 

The past few nights I've been a) staying up past 12am or b) setting an alarm for past 12am to try to book my esposo an infopass to get a stamp since his DL expires with the letter.  I was not having any luck.  Checking multiple times between 12am and 2am there were no appointments!!  Last night I asked to see his DL and low and behold- it expires in July the same date of his GC+1 year!  Yippee!  I randomly checked this morning at 5am to see if there were appointments, and there were a ton of them.

 

But then just now I thought- shoot!  I should have made the appointment because I want him to double check that our address is correct.  We changed addresses twice during the process.  So I might go ahead and wake up extra early again tomorrow morning to get him an appointment to check our address.  After all this waiting the last thing I want them to do is send the green card to the wrong place!  Ugh!

 

Also- we travel to Spain tomorrow!!  I plan to ask the immigration officer on re-entry about the one year extension letter vs stamp vs GC vs etc etc.  Just to get their point of view.  Will report back!

Hi Lucybelle.  I've missed you!

 

Make sure your esposo knows that he probably will be pulled aside into secondary when you re-enter.  It's not that anything is wrong - it's just that they scrutinizing EVERY green card holder - especially with expired green cards.  If he knows this in advance (and YOU know this in advance) it might be easier.  Since you are coming through together, you BOTH might end up in Secondary.  When Julie came into the country (we were traveling together), we both were sent to secondary.

 

I'll be watching the mailbox like a hawk now!

Yes, My approval letter was dated 3/20/17 and the site just updated on Saturday to card mailed. There is (at least for me there was) at least 2 week delay...

It really is. Good to know things are moving. I was one of those people initially considering filing N-400 while I-751 is pending. No need for that complication again. Good luck to everyone!

Hey Everyone! I follow along avidly to see when everyone gets their approvals. I am filing as a divorce waiver at VSC so wasn't expecting to hear anything until at least May since they tend to take a little longer so I haven't been eagerly checking my Mailbox regularly... but... went to my mailbox today and there's a letter from USCIS. Probably been there up to a week. So I assume, RFE. 

 

Well how wrong was I! Approval notice!! I haven't got my Green Card yet so will update you all once that comes through. I'm actually in shock since I really wasn't expecting to get approved before so many others on here particularly being a waiver.

 

NOA: 4.14.2016

Approval: 3.31.2017

Hi everyone,

 

I got my letter of approval today, the decision date is 04/07!

 

how long does it take to get the GC? i remember the first time it only took a week from when I had the interview.

 

The letter says not to travel, however, I am traveling Monday, I didn't think I was going to get my card before then and thought the extension letter was going to be  just fine. I am planning on crossing the border April 21st, My old GC expires mid May. 

 

will I still be ok with the old GC/extension letter,  or......?

Hi.congrats.i got my green  card 5 days after i got approved.For the safe side i guess not to travel yet .just wait for your card so you never have any problem in the immigration.
