Remember - this is from VJ members who have their timelines set with dates.  That's why there is such a difference in our spreadsheet and the stats I show here for April filers.

 

February 2016 Filers - Total VJ VSC Filers - 33;  Approved - 28;  Approval percentage - 88%

March 2016 Filers - Total VJ VSC Filers - 35;  Approved - 7;  Approval percentage - 20%  (only one approval since my last stats)

April 2016 Filers - Total VJ VSC Filers - 31;  Approved - 1;  Approval percentage - 3%

 

Not sure how many April 2016 Filers found "Part 2" - so we might not be getting any input from those in our group without VJ timelines.

How did I miss this? Superduper good GREAT news! Finally! It has begun. 

I was following up on the March 2016 Filers thread and saw a reply posted by @fania&nelson saying they were approved.

Anyway... have they asked for anything in particular? If they have, (even if you already sent it) send that. Also, send them every bank statement between when you filed and now. You could highlight your shared payments on the statements if you want. If you've already done your income taxes, send either the return or transcript (whichever you have). Send new pictures of the two of you together. If you didn't send affidavits before, maybe now's the time to get some people who know you to write a letter about your happy marriage. Health insurance? Credit cards? Tickets for vacations you went on together? I'd focus on the time between when you filed (if you feel like you sent everything back then) and now.

Hey everyone!  Not that many of you will care but I need to take a break from the forum.  I had to do the same thing during I130.  I can't stand the incompetence of USCIS and feeling so useless.  The constant checking of statuses and looking up timelines is only stressing me out.  My esposo and I decided to wait for the new 10 year GC to apply for citizenship.  He travels so much that he thinks it will be better to wait for the card.  We'll plan an infopass in a few weeks to get the stamp.

 

When we get approved I will be sure to come back and let everyone know!  Though I'm sure we'll be the last of the lot anyways.

 

Good luck.  The light at the end of the tunnel is slightly closer... I think I can see it when I look reeeally hard....

Lucybelle, can't wait to hear back from you.  Julie and I are waiting until August to apply for Citizenship.  So we'll probably be in the same lot yet again!

I checked the timelines again this evening.  There has been one more March 2016 VSC filer approved - so 8 out of 35 for March 2016.  According to the timelines, April 2016 VSC filers still only has one approved....

Hi all, 

 

My GC expires in May and my NOA has an April date, there aren't any appointments in boston and I need to travel mid April, i have read the extension expires according to the date on your GC not the NOA, and I have also read the opposite. Which is it? I will be traveling to mexico to the border and I don't know if I should risk it since i don't want the officers to think or say my GC is expired if they just read what the NOA date says.

I am also in Boston and am in exactly the same situation. The extension date for letter expires in April and for the GC expires in May. I have searched a lot but I am not convinced there is a clear answer to which date it is. Plus crossing the border and having to do any kind of explanation I would imagine is not going to be great experience. I have an infopass appointment tomorrow morning and will add to the forum what I find. 

 

I think it is best not to leave the country without the permanent GC since now everyone is really close. If not the gc, certainly not without the i551 stamp on the passport.

Your letter extends your Green Card date, though I know some people disagree.  I have trolled several immigration attorney sites, and they all say it's the Green Card date.  If you are really worried, look for an appointment at an ACS that is NOT Boston  Can you travel to New Hampshire?  Or is there an ACS west of you?  Sometimes the big cities have a real backlog when it comes to dates.

We are glad to have you back, Bueso!  Our original thread got too big and the moderators closed it.  But they closed it before we could put a link to the new Part 2!
