I am in sort of the same dilemma, but plan to use the 4/30/07 dated I 134 simply because its the most up to date version available to me when I am ready to complete the form.

Also I know the USCIS' website lists the versions of the forms which are still acceptable to use. I assume that they will include the 4/30/07 form in the list of acceptable versions once they've uploaded the more current form.

I suppose if you're still in doubt, you could contact your consulate as the time comes and ask if the 4/30 form is acceptable.

One other question, if my fiance's interview is not going to be until June should I wait to get all the I-134 information or jsut go ahead and compile all that now?

Again, I'm in the same boat as you on that one. I am going to visit my fiance in just over a week. I plan to take him my I 134 and employer letter at that time (plus all the other documents he'll need from me). His interview likely won't be until the first part of June.

I may error on the side of caution and send a more 'updated' one via Fed Ex - depends on how paranoid I'm starting to feel around then.

That's a good general plan. No harm in getting everything ready in advance, but bearing in mind each consulate can exercise it's own view of what does and doesn't meet evidential requirements for financial support, it's wise to have updated materials unless it is expressly known that the specific consulate aren't overly concerned. Better to be prepared unnecessarily than unprepared and get asked!

The last 2 I-134 expire on 30 April 2007 but the latest revision dated 28 Feb. 2007 (on the bottom of form) is good. I know that if you go to the USCIS form site it states that "2/28/07. Versions 12/04/06, 7/14/06 and 6/17/06 are also acceptable". So as long as you are using one of these revision then you are fine. I know that I had to redo mine and I sent just the I-134 to my fiance. Hope this helps.

Hmm...just makes me a bit nervous. We had our entire I-129F packet sent back to us because the I-129F form expired in mid February (I believe) while it was sitting on someone's desk at TSC. Then we were transferred to the dreaded CSC. I'm sure I just missed some of the fine print telling me to do the updated one because we did take a couple of months to fill out all of the forms, but I did see that the form was still current at the time of postmark. Ahh well. Learned our lesson. Always read fine print.

I dont know the answer, but the I-134 form has been under review for removal as part of the paper reduction act. It was under 60 day review ending 2-26-07, that was extended for public comment till 3-27-07. The rumor Im reading is it may no longer be required in the near future.

Good Luck
