Fiance's native alphabet

I need a little advice on filing out # 16 on the I-129F "If your fiance's native alphabet uses letters other than roman letters write their name and address in the native alphabet". Well my sweetie is from Morocco and my Arabic is less than stellar. Should I take a stab at filling it in? Will they care if I leave it blank? Maybe I should post an attachment to it stating something along the lines of "it's Arabic, but im terrible at writing the characters and didnt want to screw it up" ?

I sent the forms to Ahmed to fill out the parts that needed to have the "native" language.

Yup. You fiance needs to fill out and sign the G325A forms any, so have him write that stuff on a piece of paper and send it along. I attached it to the form and wrote "see attached" in the space.

Since they mail the embassy packet to that address using the arabic, it's important to have it written well. My husband sent me his address scanned through email, and it was a little fuzzy, so the package was sent to the wrong address at first (either that or the Cairo people can't write arabic either, which wouldn't suprise me, lol)

I had all the papers with me the last time I went to Morocco. Your SO will need to put his name and address in Arabic on the I129f and then sign all 4 of the G325 and his letter of intent to marry. Most importantly, you need to get him to sign several original copies of all forms in case something gets lost or destroyed. you always want a complete backup.

I had Mohammed write his name in Arabic and send it to me with his papers. Then I sat and very carefully wrote it in myself. I wonder if anyone could actually READ it? (I can picture someone attempting to read it and laughing to tears over it.) We've made through to the interview, so it must have been adequate.

I forgot to get Abdel to write his address in Arabic, but they speak French there too, so I wrote in that French is acceptable so they can just write it in English letters. Abdel got his package ok - well, he had to find a friend that knew someone that worked at the post office and that person said yes his package was there, so Abdel gave him some money so he "wouldn't forget" to deliver it on the next business day since that was on Sunday. But the French wasn't the problem, it's just that in Morocco you tend to have to lubricate the wheels of business to get anything done.

The only thing we wrote in Arabic on our entire application was Majid's signature on the G-325. His address was written in French. He had no problems getting the packet, so I wouldn't worry too much about how you write the address.

He does need to sign the G-325 for you, though, so make sure you get him to do that.

I had to write my fiance's address and name in Arabic, luckily I know how to write it so I wasn't in a bind. Perhaps he can write his address and name and scan the paper for you and you can copy it verbatim onto the sheet so you don't have to go through the trouble and risk of mailing it? Or you can have him scan it and find someone who speaks/writes arabic write it for you? Remember you can always scan it and show it to someone trusted to verify it :)

For our part, he printed off the form, filled in his part on all four pages and mailed it to me. That way we didn't have to wait forever for him to receive my mail and get it back to me.

I took the form down to the nice folks at our local Arab food market and asked the owner if he would be so kind as to write my husband's name and address in Arabic.... and he was very happy to do so. Turns out he is also Palestininian, from Gaza . Now my husband and I see him at least once or twice a week, picking up Arabic bread and other necessities at his store.

Seems like it was a common dilemma,, but everyone had a different way to deal with it
