My wife received letter from VSC stating her 601 waiver "has been granted".

Receipt date was April 28, 2006. Granted after 11 months.

Her case was touched only once in 11 months about a month ago.

The uscis online status still says pending. Montreal has not received word from VSC either.

I called VSC and the operator said she has NO information that the waiver been approved.

Instead, she said, its still pending.

When I told her about the letter in hand, she sounded bit surprised and asked me to hold.

She came back 2 minutes later and said the strangest thing:

"You need to make an info-pass appointment at the local district office".

I immediately asked "What is there that tells you that I need to make an info-pass appointment".

She said "I just told you what to do - make the appointment".

I said "District offices are not involved in 601 cases filed at Montreal consulate".

She said "Do you need help on any other case". She sounded annoyed by this time.

I said "Thank you"
