Did you mail your package with a registered mail, a signature delivery? You may want to check with the Embassy or USCIS if they got your petition. You can try calling the visa section at 06975358200 or USCIS at 06975352233.

Mephibosheth,

Don't worry. It took almost two weeks for them to charge my credit card, but it varies from person to person. Even after they charge your credit card, it still seems to be taking at least 60 days for I-130 approval. Did you find what you needed to certify that your translations are accurate? I've read that you can just write:

"I certify that I am competent to translate from [the language of the document] to English and that the above [identify the document and to whom it pertains] is a correct and true translation to the best of my knowledge and belief.

Signed: [translator's full name]

Address:

Telephone:

Date:

And that's it. Hope that helps. I think meauxna's right that you don't need them to be certified by a notary public, with the exception of your police certificate, since that's a pretty important document to them and is not in either German or English.

Good luck waiting. I think that's the hardest part...

Best wishes,

Mary

thanks, same to you

After over a month of having sent out our package and getting charged over 100 dollars for it, Frankfurt sent our package to my address in the US and it had a note that said "file it in the US."

I am so furious that I cannot even write as I would otherwise. If anyone has any ideas or similar experiences please let me know because we are in a hopeless situation.

Ok, We got the I130 package together, shipped it out to Frankfurt (for a large fee) and waited for over a month for our credit card to get charged. They had told us via phone that Poland is now under USCIS frankfurts jurisdicttion. and my home address in the US got the package returned with a piece of papaer that said "file in the US.'

Hi Andrew,

I'm so sorry to hear this. Do you have proof of your residency in Poland? If so, you should be able to contest their decision. Did you submit proof of your residency with the I-130 application?

Mary

"I am a resident of Poland, I sent them my residency card, and a certified translation."

Then you should call US Embassy in Poland and tell them about your case. Maybe you should start the process to the US Embassy in Poland and they will take care of your petition. I don't know about Poland, but they started again to accept petition to the Embassies without a USCIS offices, I know for sure somebody in Romania just finished DCF to the Embassy in Bucharest, all the process took only a month, very very fast.

So contact the US Embassy in Poland!

All the best,

Adriana

Hi Andrew,

How long have you been resident in Poland? I think to file in Frankfurt, there's a six month residency requirement now. From having read some of your former posts, though, it sounds like you've been in Poland for a year? I just don't understand their response. I would try emailing the Consulate in Germany and explain your situation. Explain that although you have a domicile in the States, you are a resident in Poland. Are they viewing your domicile in the United States as your residence? It doesn't make any sense....

Thanks Adriana, and Mary. I'll check out this embassy in Warsaw although they treat us absolutely horribly.

Andrew, good luck for you and your wife.... your address on I-130 should be the one in Poland...I am just saying cause I don't understand why they sent you the petition back to the address in the States. All the correspondence mail must be to the address in Poland.

Let us know if something new in your case.
