Wink wink wink wink wink. (that's my impression of a pig talking).

I had a couple growing up, and then we had one a bit later on called Percy, but we renamed him Winky Pig because he just talked and talked all day.

Poor thing got a bad case of the mites and lost his hair and was ever so sorry for himself, the vet fixed him up with a couple of shots, the result being that what we thought was a short haired piggy turned out to be a very long haired piggy.

He was also gay, and more stupid than most because he insisted on trying to have sex with our rabbit's head. The rabbit was not happy with that so the two had to be separated.

You're right, they have sharp claws and can really scratch, especially if you try to give them a bath. He wasn't that smelly though because we'd give him hair cuts and bathe him every once in a while, plus he hung out on the lawn most of the time.

THanks for the pics. I think when/if we have kids I'll get them a piggy or two.

You should NEVER house a rabbit with a guinea pig! Nooooooo! A rabbit can kill a pig really easily!

I hate mites :( They're awful things and a pain in the piggybum to try and get rid of :( I've got my 2nd visit to the vets tomorrow with my two for another injection!

Don't GPs do that little dance when they are happy? I've forgotten what it's called...

It's called "pop-corning" :) Simply because they hop about and look like popping-popcorn :P It's REALLY adorable! My two do it whenever I change the fleece in their cage or if I give them loooooooooooooooooads of hay :)

Goodness, I hope you get the mites taken care of. It took two shots for Winky to get better, and he made the most awful scream when they stuck him with the needle (in the fleshy bit in his neck) I guess it leaches out of the skin and makes it impossible for the mites to stick around. It was very worth doing though, it cleaned up and he didn't scratch at himself afterwards and seemed much more pigtacular. The shot did give him an upset tummy though, so watch out for that.

I recommend a grass run for GPs, he would hang out there all day munching away, and the run was very easy to make. Few bits of wood and some chicken wire.

I find them absolutely adorable when they do that; such comical little creatures. If I didn't have 5 cats I'd almost certainly be over run with GPs by now....

Hehe! I used to have 2 guinea pigs, they were called Rodney and Dell, the names sound familiar?? :P I loved the lil guys! but after about a year or so, we had to separate them because they started fighting, I'm scarred for life now, one day they were like ripping each other to shreds and I tried to stop them fighting, big mistake! I should have put a thick pair of gloves or something, because one of them got my finger and wouldn't let go, and I ended up going to A&E and having 5 stitches in my finger, but I still loved the lil guys! :luv: lol, that finger print with my mutilated scar is on my green card now! they had to pick that one didn't they!

Oh gosh! I know what that's like - My two have been fighting lately (Fox ended up ripping fur off of Badger's bum!) and are now living in a cage that's divided right down the middle. It's awful, but it's because they're going through piggy puberty and so they're really territorial right now. I'm giving them their space and hoping that in about 6-7months I can put them back together into one cage. It's horrible, but I can't see myself giving them away just yet. I have a tiny bit of hope that they'll start getting along again one day! ^_^

And ouch about your finger! That sounds AWFUL! Piggy teeth can be very sharp and it's really rare for them to bite, but when they do....

Hehe, they're very cute! thats just what I had to do, my dad made another cage for me to put the other guinea pig in, we could never put them back together, but they're cages were next to each other and they'd always been squeaking at each other, hehe, I loved that. Hope you can put your two back together one day. :luv:

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
