As a slight glimpse of hope, they don't always update things right away so its possible these get updated after the fact.

I just put that number in my app. I see there are many cases still pending from Nov 29. As you said maybe these haven't been updated yet. Hopefully

Hi guys 

 

I just sent in a request to USCIS regarding case outside normal processing which is 6 month mark. The request actually went through so i guess anything outside of 6 months is outside the normal processing.

 

Not sure if this will actually help or hinder but i will wait and see because now it forces them to actually look at my case and give a reply.

Each time I sent one after 6 months I got a response that I am still within normal processing time and a case may or may not be generated.  Was this via phone or email and did you receive a service request number for tracking?

What do you mean by the request went through?

I'd expect you'd just get a response back saying to wait.

Its also possible this would just add additional time to your wait, or not make a difference by the time you get a response.

 

Processing time right now is about 8 months.

I just got approved after  10months an 1 day. Each time I sent a request it push me back 60 days. When the senator an my husband contacted them due to time was outside of normal processing they said due to the inquiry it pushed me back 60 days an wouldn't be aproved till late august. It was a good thing the senator kept tabs with them that

 I was approved last Thursday.

Wow, I am surprised. When I tried it I was never given a tracking number. Just a generic auto reply that I was within normal processing time. 

 

As far as delaying your case, it may or may not. The USCIS reps say it does not. However, I have read posts online from others that says it does. I guess you will just have to wait and see what happens.

I was told to expect a reply to the request by August 17th

I was told this is not true as far as being pushed back 60 days each time you send an inquiry.  However, I don't know what is true and what's not. This whole process is a huge unknown, nothing is clear cut. 

 

I also did an inquiry via my senator and was sent a response last week. Basically saying Nebraska has a huge backlog and that I am still within normal processing. However, if I need help expediting the case send the proof to my senator's office and they will forward to the congressional supervisory unit for review. I have decided to just wait as I know they aren't going to approve the expedite. I hear they are really strict on those unless it is life or death. So I am not going to even bother with it.

I don't believe the 60 pushback because i was given an actual date that i would be a reply and they date was both online and in email.

 

I will update once i hear something on or before the date.

 

I have followed your case and i am sorry you had such a long wait time. Hopefully this next phase will be easier for you.

My husband had requested expedite for financial reasons but never got a response. 2 months after he called, they sent an email that they had mailed a notice asking for proof which all now we never received. 

Expedite has to be something of great urgency where they are concerned an the proof behind it. 

Really I don't think half the agents know the answers to our questions, that it leave you to wonder who is right from who is wrong

They had told my husband / senator that the end of June I would have been approved but because I had a request early June even though the pop up said other wise I would have to wait until August but I was approved July.

What? That sounds crazy. Shouldn't matter request or not if you're up for approval they should approve you. Something really needs to be done about this process.
