I am the one who made that statement. Both USCIS and the senator said the same thing to my husband. Making calls, senator reviews an enquiry request cause a delay in your case. If u go on fb there is a gentleman by the nAmerican of Brian Cox who has a group K1/cr1/ir1. He also mentioned that once u do a case enquiry an get congress it does push your case back 60 days

I was responding like you call to just inquire about your case status, no senators involved. Because i did call and since Nebraska is slow as molasses, it took 204 days for NOA1.

To be honest, i dont even feel the Tier 2 people have correct information. Yes, this process has gotten longer, many things have factored in, fee increases, hence many more applications, new president ect. Nothing is cut and dried with immigration

I don't know if that's true but, when I called my senators office to inquire on the status I was told due to the backlog at the service centers it can take 6-8 weeks for them to receive a response from uscis, not that it adds that much additional time. My expedite request which was made on June 20 hasn't even been assigned. The person I spoke with after you originally posted it causes a delay told Me that's not true, his exact words were that's crazy, and explained in detail what happens when inquiries are logged, if an expedite is not approved etc. I know people who call everyday and it didn't delay anything.

Everyone seems to give different information at uscis. Don't know why. I'm at 296 days now. Expedite we never got the response they claim they sent. Senator didn't work, case enquiry either. Transfer made it worse, it was better we remained at Nebraska

I'm sorry you're going through this. If I were your hubby I'd just keep calling and stay on them about it as your case is beyond normal processing time. I am thinking of cancelling the expedite request next week and just waiting it out as they seem to be moving, just not fast enough. And yes the agents all say something different. So it's hard to tell what's accurate and what's not. It's so frustrating
