Don't you think it's hypocritical to be going off on people for not being patient enough when you got an expedite? You obviously felt your situation warranted you to jump ahead of the line. You want us to "do as you say" but "not as you do"? How would you feel after waiting almost 10 months and everyone around you got approved?

Most of us have accepted waiting is part of the process. I was patient and waited my turn for the first 7 months. After that I wrote to the heads at USCIS, emailed the Ombudsman, contacted politicians. Others contacted the media and others. If ALL applicants had to wait 9 or 10 months then you wouldn't see the anger. All other service centers are taking up to 6 -7 months tops. Why should a person at Potomac get to wait 5 months while someone in Nebraska has to wait 10 months? 5 months difference is a lot. In the past USCIS transferred cases to balance the workload.

If you followed Nebraska you would know between Sept and Oct the service center processed FIVE DAYS worth of cases in one month. This isn't a conspiracy, this is according to their processing times page. Nebraska is a disaster and nothing is being done about it. Those of us who are stuck aren't whining for the sake of whining. Our cases deserve to be approved in a timely fashion.

Every case is different and not all centers handle CR1 cases. Nebraska handles the bulk of those cases.

As for my case, I requested an expedite at about the 7 month mark because I felt that was beyond the time for my case. True you have to be patient but you also have to be proactive.

I feel that my case went faster because I believed and claimed my right to have a speedier case. I was not stressed at all. I calmly requested an expedite by phone when I felt it was time for the case to move on to the NVC.

If I see that the time for an interview needs to occur more quickly, I will again request that my case be reviewed. At this point, it is not necessary since I am looking at a January 2018 timeline. That is perfectly fine with me.

You seem to think that most of us going through the process, contacting USCIS/NVC or being delayed are doing something wrong, just because you were lucky enough to get an expedite. Expedites are granted based on the agent's discretion, not solely on the so call ''right'' to have one as you put it. A lot of people with valid reasons, some of which surpass yours,  send requests every day in a respectful manner. A lot of us have been waiting for way longer than you, and still, get denied for an expedite or even an inquiry. Be grateful that it worked for you, but also be mindful of those who didn't and how you come across.

Jake,

I understand that you exp because of the financial issues and whatever else. But coming on here and talking about other people because they complain that they are waiting over 300 days. So you exp because you felt the need to exp?? Right? Dont you think other ppl tried doing that also? Dont u think we call and email? Yes we all do. We call, we email and yes we do complain. Your case is nothing more important than mine or anyone elses on here. But atleast we dont come on here like you and attack other people about complaining how they wait 9-10 months. Some people cant even request an inquiry and its past their PD. Your case is nothing special. Its been over 8 months for me, and other people 9-10 months. But you come on here and start attacking people because they complain. While u exp at 6 and half months!!!! Now you also want to exp at NVC!!! You are saying that you are not stressing it SOOOO why are you expediting then??? Most of us support our spouse, most of our spouses live in a messed up countries but again we cant do none about it but to wait. How many kids are being apart from their fathers on here??? You dont know because you dont care. You came to attack other people and talk about your case being exp!!! I hope you wait for that interview another year. Why I said that is because you are very rude to others on here and its not all about you or your case. We all have loved ones and we are in this position together. Not one post have I seen on here attacking people they way you did that guy!!!!

I don't think that I am rude at all. I try to be helpful when I can.

The point that I try to make is that Nebraska primarily handles the CR1 cases and at this point they have a lot of cases to handle. Given the political climate, every case is being looked at carefully to prevent unwanted people from entering the country and wreaking havoc.

I am also trying to say that while you need to be patient, you need to be proactive. I know that people have emailed and called USCIS as well as contacted politicians. However, the biggest factor is that if you harbor negative energy, it will stall your case.

It is not necessarily luck but rather a positive energy. Everybody is different.

You have to work with the spirit that is there to guide you. Unfortunately, the vast majority of people cannot do so.

I am stating the facts. Nebraska is taking between 9-10 months on average and if you look at VJ timelines along with USCIS timelines it backs up that fact. It is a FACT Potomac, Vermont and Texas all process CR1/IR1 cases. It is a FACT every other processing center is almost TWICE AS FAST as Nebraska.

We have to be proactive? Are you kidding me? What do you think everyone on here has been doing? Many of us have worked TOGETHER to try to get Nebraska processing faster. We have spent HOURS if not DAYS writing letters, emails and making phone calls. We haven't been skipping the line and coming up with exaggerated expedite excuses like you have.

If you were "not stressed at all" then that completely contradicts your need to expedite your case! Which speaks volumes over your sense of entitlement. Your tag line should be "do as I say - not as I do". You carry on about all of us whining about processing times when you felt you were waiting too long after 217 days. According to you, you weren't even stressed about it. You are a hypocrite!

That is great everything worked out for your timeline. Thanks to people like you who work the system the rest of us are waiting several months longer to have our cases adjudicated. There are many people who have much more serious cases than yours who patiently waited their turn and did not exploit their situation.

Jake, I can put all the saints upside down, pray to the Virgen de Guadalupe almost to the point of becoming a nun, and none of this would guarantee me an approval.

While staying positive and having a respectful attitude towards the agents is crucial, the rest comes down to honestly, a bit of luck. Just like @acidrain said, we stay proactive. Most of us call on a weekly basis, on top of the emails and tracking, and it just can't happen for everyone due to the backlog. The ''current climate'' that you seem to believe is the reason for the delay, really isn't. Other centers are approving cases in the normal 6 months because they don't have an overwhelming number of cases. You're trying to mansplain, worse, immigrationsplain to all of us how the process works, and although I know you think you're trying to be helpful, you're also assuming we haven't done everything in our power to get our approvals. Let's just agree to disagree on this one. Have a good night.

So basically what you are saying that our cases are being late for an approval maybe cause there is something wrong with it??? Since they look  at it veryyy carefully!?!?! We are very calm

but somebody that has been married over 10+ years has to wait 9 months with a child??? Do you think thats okay??? Or how fiances visas are approved in few months and they have 90 daya to decided if they want to get married?? How do you know that your marriage will last when your wife comes here since you are rushing to expedite everything?!?!?!! You dont!!!! So please dont come here and attack people or think your case is better than ours!!!!

Whether you've been married 1 month, 1 year or 10 years, all cases are handled based on a priority date at USCIS and NVC. Once it gets past those stages, the timeline is based on the embassy that your spouse will be interviewed at. Some embassies have more interview slots than others.

It will not guarantee you an approval because you are already claiming defeat.

I claim victory because it is mine.

Once again you are INCORRECT. USCIS does not always handle cases based on priority dates. Which was precisely what the person you initially had an issue with was saying. Had you gone through the application process like a normal person you would know this first hand. Some people who filed in Jan 2017 are still waiting for their approval while people with the NOA1 date of Feb 14 & Feb 21 have been approved already.

If you truly believe our applications have not been approved because of some cosmic energy I wish you the best of luck on the medical exam.

I’m sorry but you are wrong. They are not based on priority dates because I got approved ahead of people that are still waiting and their priority date is before mine. I don’t understand how they do it unless they just break up the cases and spread them out to the workers but even though I’m glad to be approved, my heart still goes out to those waiting to be approved still. It’s hard being apart from your loved ones.

The cases at USCIS are based on a priority date. If someone is approved later than they should, then either they will get an RFE or USCIS mishandled or misplaced their cases.

Of course each center is different. Nebraska, which is the largest, will have more cases and take more time.

Sundee,

I have been talking to you for now maybe 2 months. I truly believe something is wrong with your case or you are not telling us the real truth. There is nooo way that you have not heard anything from USCIS after you done inquiry and its been almost a year for you. Also you mentioned to us how you met with whoever, how you paid the lawyer 5k and no respond or no help. No Sundee we are not stupid on here. We connect some dots. We might not be immigration officers or know alot about immigration but again we are not stupid, so please stop feeding all these users on here with that story.

EDurevic,

Wow, I cant believe you or anyone else on here would think I’ve not been truthful. If something is wrong with my case I would pray that uscis would tell me because at least then I would be able to correct it.

I have called uscis and as most persons I ask questions. Last I heard on Nov 6 is that my case is assigned to an officer.

I have no reason to lie abt any steps I’ve done and it’s not only me that hasn’t had their case approved or a RFE request made as there are still several from Nov, so I pray we all get through this.

And your attack at me is really uncalled for as we all seek the same thing and that is to be with our spouse.
