How many January Nebraska filers are still left? We're the 25th January. We have been married since 2012 and our daughter is an American citizen. My wife is from Ireland. It's a fecking joke that these Nebraska feckers can't get off their good-for-nothing asses and just process straight-forward that I could pay a drunk monkey to do. It's altering life and career plans as I have to now turn down a research offer in January in fear that the delay might continue. I applied a year in advance for this research position thinking that was plenty of time and yet here we are, our lives being dictated by Nebraska, where dreams go to die. Beyond frustrated - it's insanely unfair.

We are in the same boat.  We are married for almost 12 years with 2 American citizen kids. We are not able to plan for anything because you never know when Nebraska is going to put their act together and approve the damn application. It's so frustrating.

Add me to the boat.  We have been married since 2001, so 15+ years with 2 American citizen kids.  We applied in May 2017 and hoping to move by July 2017.  We thought we have enough time, but now it seems like it may not be the case.  We can't do any planning because we are stuck in hell Nebraska.

I hate following other threads like the march threads because most of them are already approved from Texas and I’m here still waiting at Nebraska. I rather join this thread instead of march 2

There are still lots of persons waiting in the whole spectrum from every month. Visa Journey is just a drop in the bucket. Be patient because Nebraska is already processing February. I think they are picking cases to process from each month trying to catch up but that means persons are being left behind. I cannot stress it enough about being patient.

I did one inquiry and that resulted in nothing but I had my hubby call once and that was when they started doing January cases and we were told in about 3 weeks we should hear something and sure enough we did.

I know the wait is terrible and it sucks the life right out of you but you have to focus on other things. I was surprised when I got the email last night. I was busy making plans for ny vacation which officially begins next monday. It is going to happen when you least expect it.

In the mean time start preparing yourself for NVC stage by reading up on It. And you can also start looking up documents you will need. Information is key to getting through this immigration process succesfully.

@Kymberleyreeed  I'm another UK, June 2017 filer that got sent to Nebraska. My wife and 3 stepkids are all waiting there until this happens. Totally feel your pain.

Not that it actually matters but here's what our attorney said to us:

If you could simply answer the following, I would greatly appreciate it.

1. Is it normal for cases with a receipt date after ours to be approved before ours? They were also in the Nebraska Center. I understand they are backlogged, but do you have any insight on how the cases get processed? It's definitely not on the "first come, first serve" basis as they say.  I understand your frustration, particularly when others around you may have had their cases adjudicated before yours.  Keep in mind that no two cases are alike – the facts and evidence are different, as is the officer adjudicating it.  The officer adjudicating your case may be more scrutinizing than the officers who adjudicated your friends’ cases. To date, there has been no Request for Evidence – meaning they haven’t found anything in your petition that warrants a request for us to provide them with more documentation.  That’s a good thing.

I had asked him several other questions but strangely enough that answer gave me the strength to be a bit more patient.

Congratulations to you @Longingfor! I know your NOA1 was from November. It's great you finally got your approval! I would have probably gone insane if the website went past my NOA1 without hearing from them.

Thanks but my NOA1 is January 31st not November. I am sure your approval is on it's way.

I was like you at one point trying to figure it out when a friend told me the same thing. That some cases are overstay cases, working illegally, some persons have issues that arise in background checks, some used government services while visiting, some spends half their time in USA as if they live there and the list goes on and on.

I've noticed Nebraska is cleaning up a lot of older files. This morning a Morooco case NOA1 Nov 22 & a Sierra Leone case NOA1 Nov 10 were both approved. Evidence from RFE was received on a couple of newer cases Mexico NOA1 Jan 26 & Russia NOA1 Feb 2 (they are both not approved). I have noticed a pattern the past week or so Nebraska is trying finish up 2016 and are slowly approving new cases. I have not seen a huge amount of Feb cases approved on my app tracker. I will update as more cases are approved.
