First of all @Marley_09 A lots of congrats for your NOA2, I´m very happy for this.... what´s next:   Of course, the happy Dance!

Now your path will suffer acceleration, you´ll see!

 

Second: Our @Sundee is fighting for all of us, so let´s wait for good news from her and in advance thanks for doing this for all of us!!!!

 

And third, first month since my NOA1 and 7 months to go!!! I´m wondering that my path is going to take 8 months, I could be wrong but could be right, It may take 6 months, or maybe 10, but my preset goal is 8 months!

Only time will say the truth!

As for a case number you wouldn't get that yet. You'll be notified when the case is transferred then you can either call for your case number an Inovice number or wait for the welcome letter via email as well as you can do both. 

 

 

Did you call NVC and ask for your case number and IN# or did you get it in an email first?

We got it via email first an we called to find out when they received our case from NVC

If you guys need us to team up and send e-mails I am totally on board. We can create a new thread with all the information for all of us that have been waiting over 7-8 months.

I'm hoping that the fact that more of us are trying to do something about it will make Nebraska feel pressured to take action. I'm guessing they're used to people just ''going with it'' since they make us feel like we have absolutely no power in the process whatsoever. It's disconcerting, unfair, exhausting and downright infuriating. 

I know, immigration is not a right, it's a privilege. But don't charge 500+ USD that many people don't have plus paperwork and not expect people to complain, especially when a lot of us paid more when they increased the fees to have a gradually suckier and longer service. 

And no, it's not Trump or the current political climate, since other centers continue to work as expected and are approving cases in 5-6 months. Something is fundamentally wrong specifically in Nebraska.

Nyokie, I am definitely speaking up about your case.. August last year and still waiting is too long..Nyokie if I may ask tell me what all you have done as far as pushing uscis to get you approved? 

How many times have you called them? How many on line inquiries have you submitted? Have you contacted any senators or congressman to inquire about your case? And finally did you send emails to the 2 men that overseas uscis?

Please get back to me asap, so when I get to speak I can inform Osbudsman organization that you have exhausted all means to get your case processed and approved...

I got our NOA2 in the mail on Monday, 09/25, then got the text message and email that our case was sent to DOS  for visa processing on Tuesday, 09/26. How long should we wait before we can call? The email stated to wait 6 weeks from that date. I don't want to wait!!!

You can give them between 1 week to a week an a half.

yes. Exactly 95 cases out of 1731. Which is about 5.5 percent. ☹️

I am really curious, as someone that has worked in a job with metrics/deadlines... WHAT is Nebraska doing? Isn't it a red flag that they've fallen behind other centers significantly? Wouldn't it be a concern that they're taking twice as long and certain measures should be implemented? My mom says ''No because they just don't care'' and even though it is a very simplistic answer, the more time that passes, the more I talk to you guys and hear the horror stories, the more I'm sure it must be true.

I understand they are not exactly thrilled about having millions of applications every year, all immigrants trying to start their lives in the US, to reunite with their loved ones. 

But we didn't create the system, we didn't stipulate the rules.

sure, throughout the years a lot of people have abused the system which results in stricter laws and a more complex process. But wouldn't you want to make the process more accessible, less long and less of a torment so people would want to do it? Tell me, how spending up to a year and a half or even more away from your husband or wife is the choice you want to make, instead of marrying and adjusting inside with him or her?  Sure,  people get confrontational and say ''it is because there are proper VISAS to do that and adjusting inside is fraud'' so we do the CR1/R1 instead.

The thought of spending up to a year and a half in the process and in just two years remove conditions is absolutely insane. The fact that you're surviving it this long should be proof enough, dammit. If they continue to be this slow, I'm going to be almost reaching the two-year mark before I'm even in the United States.
