ALL Nebraska I-130 Filers - 2

My petition was transferred to another office. The USCIS website says " We will prepare your case for officer review.  If we need more information, we will notify you." I'm hoping this means that it'll be approved in the next month or so!

 

I think Nebraska is sending off a bunch of petitions filed in September. Someone else in this thread also mentioned theirs was transferred. I hope this fixes the bottle-neck!

So my status made the third change yesterday, this morning an just now to: case was transferred and a new office has jurisdiction

I finished my analysis of the receipt numbers from cases before my priority date of August 2. There are around 300 I-130s left from the last couple of days of July that still need to be approved. I have noticed a lot of cases from July 28 being approved in the last two days, so Nebraska should be starting to finish up on those last cases from July in these next few weeks and hopefully continue with August as we head into March.

Now my case says on "Next Steps" : We will assign your case to an officer.   We will review your case and mail you our decision. If we need more information, we will notify you.

 

I wish they would let us know what office our petitions were forwarded to on the website! Some people have said theirs was sent to local offices. I wonder if that's true for all of us.

 

Edit:

I just checked again, they changed the wording from another office to " to another USCIS office."

This is so frustrating.. 

 

At first when my status changed they told my husband it was transferred to a Atlanta local office, then it changed again to:  case was transferred and a new office has jurisdiction

Cordoba, thank you for the time you put into your analysis. It is much appreciated. Although it isn't cheerful news, at least it lets us know SOMETHING, which is far better than nothing.

 

Is there any way to see which country these are from? Or how long they've been married? Do you feel either of those might habe something to do with the time it takes to make an approval?

I found a phone app last night that alerts you when cases similar to yours are updated (and also your case). It has been super helpful! It's called USCIS APP, It's made by the publisher "Spinach Mobile LLC".

that the same one i have been using since september, it will tell you when your status has changed

All processing times have now been updated -- as of December 31, 2016, Nebraska Service Center is currently processing applications with a PD of July 28, 2016. Not a huge movement since the last update (back in November 30, 2016). Nevertheless, if your PD falls before July 28, 2016 you are officially outside of normal processing times.

Literally everything is July 28th! Haha w.t.f..

 

edit: When I say everything, I mean for each service center and field office.

Well, that confirms my analysis! I pinpointed it to July 28. This is really good news.

There is no way to see the country or length of marriage just from the receipt number, unfortunately. I know for a fact that length of marriage has no effect on how long the process takes. The Philippines is generally processed much faster than other countries, and on the flipside I know some countries have suffered longer waits recently from Trump and his Executive Order. I am not sure how much of an impact it has had, but I know it caused some problems for some people.

 

I will keep running the case numbers each day to see how many of those 300 or so cases are approved within the next few days and keep you all updated on any trends I see. With the updated processing times, it is good to know that they are about where I had them figured out to be.

This update was also applied to ALL service centers, meaning that if you check any other center you'll see the same date which is July 28, for ALL petitions. I think this is a complete bullshit. How's that even possible that all centers are processing the same dates? Taking the fact that they have different number of employees and petitions and even petition types are different. USCIS, come on already!

I honestly think someone seriously messed up. I saw the same thing and red flags went off. July 28 for ALL petitions in EVERY center? No way.
