We are at 88 days and still counting. Good luck to you all. It seems if your spouse was born in Europe the process is much quicker. I try my best not to get a pang of jealousy when I see people who have only taken 3 months in Nebraska getting their NOA2. After a few hours, I am able to feel happy for them and their loved ones. But at first, it really does sting!

I completely feel you. We are in this together.

I'm Mexican, so our waiting time for a NOA2 is between 5 and 8 months.  (I should know something in September. September! ) So less 5 and more 8.  It's completely heartbreaking. We are in the same continent than the U.S, but we are third world so... yeah. I also don't want to feel jealous or discouraged, but some days are harder than others.

I'm so sorry we all got stuck with Nebraska. Do anyone know how that works, is it random or not really?

I can't believe it already jumped from 5 to 7 months and I'm really, really hoping they will find a way to be more efficient and it won't continue to increase :(

Absolutely. It is really difficult. Hang in there. I have counted, and compared our case to others like ours, and it seems we should get our NOA2 by the first week of May. This may sound silly, but crossing days off on the calendar and counting down the days to May 1st is a big relief. We now have 74 days to go to May! It won't be our exact date, but breaking the time up into manageable chunks has really helped my husband and I keep our sanity.

Good luck to you! ¡Si se puede!

My friend, I am asking the same question....WHY IS NEBRASKA SO CRAPPY, AND HOW DO THEY DECIDE WHERE TO SEND US?!?!?!

I prayed each day leading up to and after sending the I-130 that we would get ANY center but Nebraska. Imagine the horror when I saw it on the NOA1.

Texas would have made sense! I live in Texas! But noooooo, it had to be Nebraska.

Nebraska is the only state on our roadtrip list we have not included. ?

I really, really hope you get your NOA2 as expected  <3 I understand how difficult it is. I had to say goodbye to my husband the day after getting married, I cried so much!  Breaking the time up into manageable chunks is a perfect way to describe it. We have been seeing each other every two or so months for at least a few days, since august.

you're not alone <3 and I'm sending you a big hug!

thank you for the good luck wishes, we will certainly need it!

Who the hell knows. But it is scary reading that they keep becoming slower and slower.

WE LIVE IN TEXAS TOO! well, my husband does. But I'll be joining him in Austin.

Nebraska is... where is it? I don't think I've ever figured where it is in a map. Ugh.

Oh, how awesome! We will be moving to Austin once my sweetie gets here and we save up enough to move. It's a great city with some amazing Chicano culture. I think you will enjoy living there. Maybe after all of this is done, we can meet up and burn our NOA1's in a bonfire over Lake Travis! Bwahahahaaaa!!! ???????????

Nebraska is in the "heartland", full of corn crops that go for miles, and miles, and miles and miles.

I lived there for six months and completely fell in love with it. I can't wait to be back, well, I'll have to :( ugh.

haha that sounds like a great plan. A huge bonfire, roasted marshmallows and the smell of burning NOAS. I can't think of anything more perfect. :P

HI Guys

i have a query if anyone can help me out please.i red that i need to Send PCC to NVC from every country i lived in more than 12 months.I lived in UK and Portugal more than a year and now i am in my home country from where i applied CR1 for U.S. so my question is i have got 8 months old PCC from UK which i applied when i was in Portugal for Portugal immigration and the PCC of Portugal I have got is 6 month old which i  received from there the day before i left Portugal. Can i send both PCC with my home country one where i am living now to NVC.It doesn't  say expiry date anywhere on PCC and i did not go back to those countries again. The reason i am asking is Portugal embassy here in Pakistan takes one to two months to issue PCC

Hi, im sorry no one answered you sooner, Rehman.

Well, I am no expert, but I believe the PCC must be less than one year old at the most, even if there isn't an expiration date. I would suggest getting the new one from the Embassy now, instead of waiting to find out later that you do need it. This is one of those "better safe than sorry" situations.

Good luck.

Just hit 6 ½ months today at Nebraska. PD August 2, of the cases I am tracking there are about 100 or so I-130s before mine that have still not been processed. There are likely a whole lot more than that left. Of those hundred or so, only 1 case was updated yesterday. The wait continues...

Just to give some context for how much Nebraska jumps around, this morning I checked the status of case number LIN1690870005 (way behind where I am actually tracking cases, but just entered in a few numbers way behind where my case is at just to see if any are still pending from days before my own petition) which has priority date July 28 and case number LIN1690881520 which has priority date August 1. Entering these numbers in Case Status on the USCIS homepage, we can see that both of these I-130s were approved just yesterday, February 15.

There are hundreds of I-130s in between those two petitions that still have to be approved. Yet, for some reason, Nebraska jumps from one priority date to the next, approving one case from an earlier PD, jumping over hundreds of others from the same PD, then approving cases from a later PD.

This is just an example, and is by no means a way to say that they have finished approving all petitions from before these priority dates. I am sure there are groups of petitions from even earlier PDs that still need to be approved. There is evidence of that here on VisaJourney from July filers who are still waiting for an approval. Imagine the hundreds of petitions from July that are probably still pending, and yet here they are making progress in August. They still will eventually have to go back and approve all of those they skipped before they can make it to people later down in line. They skip around a bit, so some will be approved before they finish those cases from earlier, but they arent going to be able to move to people with priority dates months later from now until all of those July people are processed. Hence the ever-increasing wait times.

What do we learn from this? Just because Nebraska is approving petitions with a certain priority date today, that most certainly does not mean your case will be approved the same day. It also does not mean that your case will be approved in the same week, maybe not even in the same month. There are cases from my priority date that were approved two weeks ago, and have already been sent to NVC. So by the time they start approving petitions with case numbers near yours, just realize that you could still have weeks left to wait, and that it isnt just your case, but there are hundreds of others that have been skipped that you will have to wait for them to go back to.

I 100% agree with you. It depends on your luck when your case gets approved. My PD is July 25th and I got approved yesterday while the cases with the same PD and 200 cases above and below me got approved around mid January and I had to wait a month to get approved. This is so unfair and ridiculous. What I learned from this waiting is it tests your patience level. You have to have it otherwise you won't have peace...

Luck is definitely the factor here. There really is no rhyme or reason to the order in which petitions are approved at Nebraska, other than the general trend that one month is generally completed for the most part before the following month of petitions is completed. I have been tracking case numbers and it is amazing the amount of petitions still left to be approved when the VisaJourney estimates say Nebraska has already passed a certain priority date. I will copy over my spreadsheet and the following explanation behind my work here from another thread.

(From other thread)

"I started with my case number, then placed that number in a cell at the bottom of an Excel spreadsheet. I dragged all the way up the column to generate the case numbers for checking on the USCIS website. I then started checking every 100th case number up the column until getting a hit (I-130 that has been received). Once I get a hit, I check every case before and after that case until reaching case numbers that are not I-130s on both sides. I then continued checking every 100th until the next hit and so on. After that, I narrowed it down to every 10th case. I then placed my results in a table and filtered to show only I-130s.

Look at how there are gaps between the case numbers on my spreadsheet. The numbers in those gaps are forms that have already been approved, the majority of which are not I-130s. There are a lot of other types of forms that have already been processed before USCIS starts working on the I-130s of the same date received. Removing the gaps, you are left seeing the sheer quantity of I-130s that are left to be approved. Just look at all of those! Pick any PD after August 1 and I guarantee you there are at least that many petitions left. And like I was saying earlier, they have not even finished July yet either! Plug in a July date and follow my process and you will discover many petitions left untouched from July too."
