Hi Everyone,

I have my visa interview on wednesday which is both exciting and nerve-racking! I am wondering if someone could please help me.

With the affidavit of support, i have an original signature on the I-I34 form, and also on his statement of employment from his employer stating his income etc. However, for other supporting documents I do not have original signatures from his bank stating his savings or for his assets e.g. stocks etc. I have just printed them out. It is too late for my fiancee to send me these via mail. I am worried that this will be an issue??? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am stressing. My fiancee's income is well over the poverty line and this is stated in the letter from his employer (not sure if this makes a difference?).

Also, do you make copies of ALL original documentation?

And did people just put their documents in plastic sleeves in a folder? or how did you organise your documents?

Thanks so much!!! This website is truly a life saver :)

Hello.  My finance's interview was Dec. 20th, and he only had my original signature on the I-134 form.  I am self-employed so I didn't have any letter from my employer; however, I did have bank statements, tax transcripts for 3 years and the full tax return from last year.  I just sent bank statements instead of letters from a bank officer.  I didn't include any documentation of any assets like real estate because I didn't need them to meet the minimum.  The officer glanced at the documents and kept the tax transcript for 2015 and returned the others.  If you easily meet the minimums and have the basic documentation they ask for, I think it goes pretty smoothly.

We just made the copies they explicitly requested on the check list to hand over but made sure we had a copy for ourselves of everything we provided in case we need it later for any reason.  One of the first things that will happen when you arrive for your interview is that they will check your documents and sort out what is needed and what isn't.  My fiance just handed them the stack of papers in the order requested on the check list.  Best of luck to you!

I am curious about this as well. My fiancee has his interview at the end of this month (the timing works out I will be visiting him during his interview). I sent him the past three years of tax returns, my recent pay stubs, an employment letter from my HR department, and the I-134 form with my original signature. I make well over the minimum needed and I was told I will not need bank statements or state my house as an asset since my taxes state I make well over the minimum requirement.

Let me know if you find out any differently. :) Good luck.

KristyD,

Let me know what you find out about the I-134 forms.

I didn't realize they have a new form. I just filled out the old form last month. My fiance just received it in the mail last week and his interview is 1/31/2017.

Nevermind. I just saw on the website that the old form will be accepted until 2/27/2017...phew

"Starting 02/27/17, USCIS will only accept the 11/30/16 edition. Until then, you can use the 02/19/14 edition and other previous editions. You can find the edition date at the bottom of the page on the Form and Instructions."
