Thats what i have heard/read i saw that some got "away with it" and some got screwed...

 

Tho maybe its in a certain time in the process and not in the end

I have a small question to you and everyone here. My service inquiry with USCIS that i filed back in November 26 is expired now and they said if i do not get an interview date by 90 days i should get back with them. Should i file another inquiry or who should i be contacting ?

In my digging around on threads here and i discovered that a change was made a year or two ago and the year now starts from the filing of the application (not from the date of the medical) - so if the AOS takes more than a year to process, yes, we have to find a civil surgeon and do it all over again.  I'd be keen to find the details of the CS that charged $250 in the twin cities to have on hand - just in case...

 

edit: maybe not for the ds3205 - heck.  I won't be filing for AOS until nearly six months after my medical.  This is going to cost me even more isn't it?

The doc I used was out in Princeton (only 20 miles from when I live) not the twin cities, in the fairview clinic. Dr Vu Mai. Uscis have a list of doctors in Mn, I just called the ones nearest me.

This time try and do a congressional inquiry. Don't put one in on your own before then, because you can only do one every 30 days. Provide that proof that they never got back to you in 90 days when you go for the congressional.

Wow, suddenly my $175 medical doesn't seem so bad! Whether you get a RFE for expired medical or not is down to chance and luck, as it seems not all IOs either know that the rules were changed a few years ago, or they simply don't care. We got unlucky and had to redo the whole medical despite entering on K1.

 

Sending good vibes everyone. I've gotten emotionally sick from all this immigration stress so I'm just trying to get by one day at a time (and without driving my spouse insane).

Sooooooo, the worry about 'what if they deny us' has started to settle over me since we got the actual interview date. I knew this last part would be the worst.

Well i have been emailing them back and fourth about my case and they only thing they do is send an email to uscis and uscis responds by " yea we know the applicant is frustrated but we are doing our best. "
Should i like go to the office and talk to them or how this should work ?

Yes, I've always went in person to these offices. I was just at one yesterday to help a family member with something, and going in person def gets better results at least I think.

Do you mean that you visit your senator when you have an open request for help with their office? With whom do you speak when you visit?? 

 

I'm asking because it took us three months to get our senator's USCIS liaison just to check into our case and I've heard that even senators can't expedite an FBI background check. Would love different information if I'm wrong, though!

Yes, I did visit my district representative, I spoke to someone who is an immigration caseworker there, that was literally their title. Apparently every office has one. They can't expedite, but they can make someone take notice and possibly re-run stuff to get it done? I've had nothing but good luck so far but I am also in a tiny town where I could place a cash bet that I was the only visitor to see them that whole week.....they had nothing better to do than go above and beyond.

Nothing yet unless I missed it in the past postings. I've had to take a chill pill from VJ for a few because the upcoming interview is literally scaring the hell out of me, the worry and nervousness about someone possibly giving us a super hard interview or even denying us is growing daily.
