Hello everyone!!!! I am applying a visa for my sister (Brazil) and I just got on mail today the form I -797 C.

I have some questions that I really appreciate you guys help.

1) Does anyone knows what means a receipt number starting with IOE? I know is a e-file, but does it have any specific Center for that?

2) On I-797 C form explains about the whole process of creating a online account and at the bottom of the form is mentioning California Service Center SVC. So my case went to California? I live in Texas for over 10 years and does not matter?

3) My receipt number starts with IOE09 .... I read that the first 2 numbers means the fiscal year the case was received. But how can be 09 if I applied on September of this year?

Thanks all!!!!

BTW my timeline is old,....from way back when my husband applied for my K3  lol

Hi All,

Need some advise.

My Aunt petitioned for other aunt.  The petitioner normally does not live in the US.  However, she came last year in 2018.  She filed taxes for 2018 this year.  She went to the US after we got the interview call.

At the interview visa officer asked following:

Q1. How is calling you?

A: Sister

Q2. When did you last meet her?

A: last month

Q3. When did she come to Pakistan

A: Last year

(at this point VO commented that She was in Pakistan for a year).

Q: When she was in Pakistan, was her husband with her too?
A: Yes
Q: Where is he now?
A: Pakistan, due to serious health condition of his father.

VO: Our mission is that families live together but it looks like she just went to help you guys move to
US.

Q: Where does she live?
A: Maryland
Q: With who?
A: Lives together with family friend on sharing because she doesn’t have any kids

VO: We need proof for domicile: house lease, boarding card/ticket, utility bill, bank statement etc to
prove domicile. Need notarized domicile.

In the end he said:

Your interview went okay. Just upload these documents. At the interview, we got a white paper with a tick mark for domicile.

***********************************************************************************************

Now how can we establish domicile?  Any ideas?
