No fix days for admin process...it may get complete in 2-3 days OR it may take years to complete, you never know...they will keep changing same status again n again after 6 months...

But I know that after interview your status may be changed to "admin process" sometimes for atleast 2 days so they can print your visa....if you status is admin for more than 3 working days than only you need to worry.

For admin normally they are doing your background cgeck n it may take long long time

All the best !

Hi Everyone,

After the interview embassy asked to provide second sponsor. Any suggestion what can i do?

That means income from your primary sponsor is not enough to sponsor you and your dependents. You will another US person who is a US citizen or a US legal permanent resident that is willing to fill out the affidavit of support form i864 for you. Once you have the new form filled out by new joint sponsor, you can take the original signed form along with supporting documents to the embassy for further process.

Trump is trying to end the chain migration. What do you guys say about that? What happens to folks that are waiting on line for decades? I am very worried.

They can not touch the old files. There will be absolutely no affect on old files.

I went through the Raise Act bill they have drafted a while ago. I am relieved reading the below statement (excerpt from the bill) - thought to share it with you all.

(e) Effective Date; Applicability.—

(1) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendments made by this section shall take effect on the first day of the first fiscal year that begins after the date of the enactment of this Act.

(2) INVALIDITY OF CERTAIN PETITIONS AND APPLICATIONS.—Any petition under section 204 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1154) seeking classification of an alien under a family-sponsored immigrant category that was eliminated by the amendments made by this section and filed after the date on which this Act was introduced and any application for an immigrant visa based on such a petition shall be considered invalid.

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum. My PD is 2009 ( India). my question is that if I look at the historical data, in 2010 it was taking 8 years ( minimum so far ) for the F4 visa approval and now its 14-15 years. Has anyone any insights from the news or some predictions, how the movement is going to be for the next 2-3 years. Is there any source out there which gives some accurate prediction.

Thanks,

Manny

Hi Manny,

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, exact data on how many people are on the line ahead of you to make an educated estimation is unavailable. Currently there are over 2.5 million people waiting on f4 line.

Waiting time down to 8 years at one time was like a delusion - it immediately moved back by 2 years of retrogression leaving up false hopes in everyone's mind and took like another 4 years to get to where it was before. The waiting time has steadily growing in the past few years as you can see. Based on my observations, waiting times are likely to get longer. Sorry, but it's a bitter truth. God bless!
