We've received a welcome letter like 2 weeks ago. Now we are done paying fees and filling out the DS260 form. However, our DS261 has not opened yet. Does anyone know whats causing this? Anyone experienced this issue, kindly share.

You should inform NVC about this problem.

Updates as per the conversation with Charles Oppenheim:

FB-4 Worldwide: This category will continue to advance given that many applicants have not responded to the NVC’s “Agent of Choice” letters. It is estimated that only about 40% of FB-4 beneficiaries have responded to these letters by the deadline, and only 15% of those who responded provided satisfactory information for scheduling of an interview. Applicants must be careful to respond in a timely manner, in order to be scheduled for an interview without delay.

So why the dates remained the same? If there is less demand the dates should move! I really don't understand what's happening.

Visas been alloted to India, Mexico and Philippines. Huge movement for India - 9 months, Mexico - 5 months. Expect movement for the rest of the world from new fiscal year(October VB).

In July, the final action date for FB-4 Worldwide will be May 8, 2004. Charlie hopes to advance this category later this fiscal year, but the data is too close to make a definitive prediction at this time. The response rate to the NVC “Agent of Choice” letters in this and most family-based categories is less than 50%, with less than 35% of those respondents providing all of the information required for a visa interview to be scheduled. Charlie reminds members that it is important to promptly respond to an “Agent of Choice” letter. If individuals who received “Agent of Choice” letters before April 2016 had responded promptly, more than 100,000 of them could have been scheduled for an interview by April 2017.

Before itss 40 % now come up to 35 % only 5% people complete process on time...

Thanks! Had a conversation with NVC. Turns out that we have filled out a form called G28 while the case was with USCIS to appoint an attorney. The same attorney information remained on our file at NVC, so there is no DS261form to be filled up on our case.

Glad to know it wasn't a major problem. I sent financial documents and civil info last week Thursday so I'm praying that everything will go on smoothly and come September my case should be completed.😀

I'm hoping to see some movement in the next visa bulletin as it's the last for the year.

All the best!

NVC received Supporting Documents for my sister and her family on May 30th, 2017.

Today I received an NVC letter asking for Birth Certificate of my SIster's husband.  During my call with NVC a while ago, they mentioned, Passport can be used as valid Birth Date proof.

They are also asking for Original Marriage Certificate in Native Language though I have provided a certified copy of the same in Native(Urdu) and English language from Issuing agency, NADRA.
