Hi

I have case number but no invoice ID.

March 2006, you can call the NVC and request the Invoice number , few weeks ago I requested the invoice number for one of my nephew with a PD Feb 2007 and they provided to me even though his case is not open for processing yet.

I also have obtained Invoice number almost a year ago, PD is Sept 2006.

Question about Birth Certificate:

the birth certificate issued at the time of birth doesnt have the person’s name. Has NVC or Embassy been asking for a new birth certificate with person’s name or it or are they accepting as it is.

I know until a few years ago, US embassy were asking not to obtain new birth certificate even if someone’s birth was not registered at the time of birth. They were asking for a letter that birth was not registered at the time of birth, in such case. May be it changed now.

It was very common (15+ years ago) to get birth certificate and name the child later. I think nowadays they require the name on birth certificate.

In those days birth was required to be registered within 15 days of birth.

My neice is almost 20, and doesnt have name on birth certificate. Of course, her parents dont have it either.

Done with my interview today at US embassy mumbai and I got the visa under F3 category
For the interview it's important you have all the documents with photocopy properly and you wont have any problem getting the visa
Also make different files for different applicant's so you wont have to rearrange the documents inside the embassy also the people inside the embassy  helps you to arrange documents order wise if you have any problems
For interview the consulate was a young american he was very nice
1st we took the oath
then he asked where are you going to stay in USA?
for how long your mother has been staying in USA?
With whom your mom stays in USA?
Does she work?
what your brother does in USA?
For how long he has been staying in USA?
what's his company name?

that's all he then said "Enjoy your life in USA you are granted the visa collect your passport in 2-3 days pay $220 visa fees"

Also we were given back all the original civil n financial documents that we had submitted to the NVC with photos and they will take all the financial n photocopies of civil documents that you bring to the interview

Thanks for putting an important guidance for other aspirant immigrants. It will be really helpful for those who may going to face their maiden interview.

thanks once again.

hello amdavad2018,

Thank for sharing your interview experience. It is really helpful. I have couple of questions :

1. What is your pd?

2. When did you submit ds260 (meaning how much time it took you from d260 submission to interview)

3. My wife does not have birth certificate from the hospital in the country she was born (Pakistan). at that time no one bothered about birth certificate. she went to school, they asked dob , her parents told dob that's it. they wrote in file. she got her 10th certificate with that dob , her passport has that dob and place of birth but does not have specifically dob certificate. later the petitioner got her dob certificate made from Indian embassy San Fransisco as they used to live there at that time. now question is will they accept a birth certificate issued by embassy or we have to fine some other way to get the birth certificate made.

4. Please write the list of documents they want

5. While filling form i864 should I add my property in india also, in addition to petitioner's income tax return and assets?

regards
