I did hear about someone commenting an immigration lawyers YouTube video that they expedited (due to stress or something on the US fiancé) and now it seems like her fiancé will be able to get his visa (he's from Poland) and even travel directly from Schengen. So I guess I'm grasping at straws here... 😇

Aww I mean, you could always give it a try! Worst case, they say no and just tell you to wait.

We didn't expedite, we had an interview originally scheduled for April that was cancelled that we rescheduled, I'm not sure where they may be at now with the backlog from being closed

Question, has anyone here sent documents to the embassy by mail after the interview before? My husband had to ship his passport back to the embassy and we ended up using PostNord to do so, it got to Stockholm and on Tuesday it said it had been delivered, then today it said it was ready for pickup (around the corner from the embassy a few minutes).. Sooo how does the embassy get it then? Do they have someone go to the postboxes down the street to pick it up or like what? I'm assuming when they said "delivered" on Tuesday that maybe they meant they delivered a slip for where to pick up the package?! I have no idea and it's kinda stressful because I don't know if the embassy really even sends people out to go pick up packages from the post office or whatever when it's not delivered directly to them..

do you give the officer the affidavit of support papers or to the counselor?

Nope it’s no longer required at interviews right now, not even mentioned!

Hey, Sorry if this has been answered already, but does anyone know how long it takes to get an interview at the US embassy in Stockholm. We received DQ notice on September 8th.

Pre-Covid it took a month after DQ for us to get our interview letter, scheduled for a month off from the interview letter (It got cancelled though and we had to reschedule last month and got one for the end of August), not sure how long it’ll take now with the backlog from covid

My husband got his passport back yesterday! Only 5 days after his case status changed to “issued” (we had to ship his passport back to the embassy which took about a week so I guess they had his visa ready to slap in his passport!) We were definitely not expecting it back so soon, was expecting at least another week or so but definitely not complaining! Getting everything ready for him to finally come here now that he has his passport and visa in hand!! 18 months in the making! A couple more months and it would have been an IR1 lol, but we need him here ASAP

Are you sure you want to go through the removal of conditions instead of waiting a couple of more months?

We just really can’t afford to have him gone even just 3 months longer to be honest, I’m still building up in my job which is client based so I’m not making a lot right now, and due to current issues my family can’t afford to help but so much so we need my husband to get here as soon as possible so he can start working here

I was thinking the same thing, definitely would've waited until the 2 year mark if the visa was valid that long. I just went through ROC, would definitely have stayed away from the US for another 2 months if it meant I wouldn't have had to deal with ROC. 😁

Under normal circumstances at this point we probably would but money is just too tight for him to be gone another 3 months unfortunately, we’ve already been pushed back 5 months in our process because of covid so we can’t take much more financially
