To those of you who have already interviewed and received the visa, how long did it take between when your CEAC changed to "issued" and when your visa arrived? My fiance interviewed on April 25th and was approved, then our case changed to issued on May 2nd. In some places it looks like as soon as it's marked issued it leaves the embassy and is on its way, but I feel like if that was the case my fiance would have it by now. Does anyone know if it seems like its 14 days after the interview/approval or 14 days after it changes to issued?

Hi
I had the same interview date for the K1 visa. My CEAC changed to Issued on April 26 and it was sent from the embassy on April 29th, I can see on the envelope..I then found it in our the shed a week after because I didn't know it had been sent and unfortunately it had gotten a bit wet, even the "don´t open envelope" was a bit wet, but I just have to pray that everything is fine. I contacted the embassy and they said there is nothing they can do, only if the "don't open envelop" had been open they could repack it, but they can´t do anything about being wet, it´ll just dry and hopefully everything will be fine.. Anyway my point is I guess it has arrived maybe on May 1st.. But so they don't necessarily send it out the same day it´s issued. Mine was sent 3 days after it was issued.  And be sure to check the mail box for any missed deliveries notes that might have to be picked up at the post office or if you have an agreement that they can leave it somewhere. It can arrive any day now I guess.

Oh my goodness! And you never got any correspondence from the embassy or post that it was arriving? I can't believe they would be so careless with it...now I'm a little worried about ours. It seems like it should have been sent the working day after it was marked issued and arrive around 2-3 days later, but my fiance has been checking the mail constantly and even called PostNord to see if it's there but they said they can't tell him anything without a tracking number. I feel like we should contact the embassy just to see if we should have expected it by now, but they are usually so impatient with us when we write so I'm a little nervous.

Exactly, no notification at all on if it was sent or arrived or anything. And the big envolope didn´t even have a plastic inning, which should be standard I think...But i guess I think all you can do is maybe contact the embassy and ask if it is shipped ( even though yes I agree they are a bit impatient with us they don´t understand how much it means and afflects us) and also of course keep an eye on the mail box everyday and look for both the package or a note saying it is in the post office.

They probably do it differently in Denmark. For me in Sweden I got a note in my mailbox telling me to pick up my visa package at the local kassaservice location. A good way to do it as no one else can get ahold of your package.

@JosephineAndBobby and @Scandi thank you for your replies. I was talking to my fiance trying to decide if we should contact the embassy and his neighbor called to let him know that a package had arrived for him in the neighbor's mailbox and it was the visa!! Crazy and scary that it was delivered to the wrong place, but thankful that we finally have it in hand.

We got our NOA2 in less than 3 months of submitting the I129f, on it there are valid through dates, does this mean he has to have his interview by then?

Does anyone know how much the physical costs in Norway?

Also the interview is in Stockholm not Oslo now?? On the I129f I put Olso, will that cause problem?

So many questions! Lol :)

Wow 3 months is really fast, congratulations! :D

According to this page the medical is 2600 NOK, not sure if it's still accurate.

I have a question about the medical too, actually. At what point did you guys schedule yours?

We received our NOA2 last week, with approval date May 8th. Can I schedule it once we get a case number from the NVC or should I wait until the embassy has received our file?

It won't cause a problem that you put that, and the reason they do it in Stockholm is because the embassy in Norway doesn't process any k-1 visas.

Super good luck to you! We are anxiously waiting for our NOA2!

Does anybody know what to do for the travel home after your interview?

As i am aware that they take your passport and send it to you, but then how do you travel home?

Especially if it's with plane.

If you're a resident in one of the Nordic countries, you don't need a passport when you travel within the Nordic countries. A different form of ID is ok.

Yes, but the embassy can extend the validity of the i-129f approval if you guys need more time. They can extend it with 4 months at a time, for up to a year.

They likely do this automatically, but I wouldn't take a chance if I were you. I would email the embassy and request an extension to be on the safe side.

It's at this stage you can "buy more time" if there are things you need to finish up in your home country before moving. Once the visa is issued it has to be used within 6 months from the date of the MEDICAL. So remember that if you try to buy more time - do NOT have your medical too soon, as that's the date your Visa expiration date will be based upon.

Let's say you do the medical on May 30, but only have your interview on October 10 and the visa is issued on October 15, that means your Visa will only be valid for about 2 weeks.

Okay, thank you for your answer.

Would my drivers license be enough ?
