Hi all,

I'm new to the site and forum and everything but it has been so nice to finally see people with similar situations and get some information specific to our location and visa type. My fiance (in Denmark) and I started the K-1 process in October, got our NOA2 on Feb. 12, and finally on Tuesday heard from the NVC (we only ever got one letter from them, and email that said it was received and now they are forwarding it on to the Embassy). I've been checking the CEAC tracker religiously and now it says "Ready". Any ideas how long it will take before we get the instructions from the Embassy? Should he schedule his medical examination now or will that cause problems?

p.s. Sorry if this is all repeated, I still haven't figured out how to search the forum threads 😅

Hi,

we’re in a similar situation and have pretty much the same timeline. I scheduled my medical once I got the notification from NVC with the STK number provided.

Hi we have almost same dates, our: NOA1 Sept 26 and NOA2 Feb 14 :)
I´m the beneficiary from DK. Just like LisaN did, I booked my medical as soon as we got the NVC case nr., and just finished the medical in Copenhagen today actually. I have tracked what would seem to be the DHL shipment of our cases to the Stockholm embassy and just this morning "Vakten" signed for it. So fingers crossed that our cases have arrived at the embassy.

Also if you haven´t now is a good time to fill out DS-160 and create an account on the Swedish embassy.

I don´t know when we will hear from the embassy, I´m hoping to hear something end of next week. But I don´t know.

I've also been watching the DHL shipment diligently and it looks like it's supposed to get to the embassy by the end of today. Hopefully that means we get the packet sometime next week for early the following week. We are eager! My fiance filled out the DS-160 and we have everything else prepared and ready to go, so now he just needs to schedule the medical exam. Did it take long to schedule an appointment?

It's nice to know we're at least not alone in this.

Always nice to hear from others in same situation! :)

Hej gott folk!

My wife and I are in the process of gathering everything needed for AoS. I have a question about the DS-3025 form. The doctor (went to Einar in Gothenburg) put a check mark on all the necessary vaccines - no dates though. He said that since the vaccine dates were unknown to both of us for the most part, and he didn't want to make them up, he'd just put check marks in. He sounded confident that it would pose no problem, so I went with it. One thing I just noticed though, is that he didn't fill anything in in part 2, so it looks like the picture below (minus the red marking). I might well be misunderstanding some of the wording for the options, and maybe this is the way it should be, but I feel like ideally he would have checked one of the two left-most boxes which confirms everything is in order - although that much can of course be gathered by just tallying the checks in part 1.

Drawing.jpeg.22b00c0d061ce29cf17b64ebb4f75146.jpeg

Did anyone here get a similar DS-3025? Did you try to send it in for AoS or did you take it to a doctor to fix it?

I also wanna double check so that I've understood it correctly - if the DS-3025 can be deemed to be OK even without the check in part 2, does that mean that I don't have to include anything relating to my medical in the AoS application, since USCIS will already have all the documents from POE?

I brought proof of every single vaccination I had ever had. The dates were included on each one of them but he still only put check marks without dates on my DS-3025. It was never an issue for me.

I don't know about part 2 since my medical report (I have the whole thing, including the X-ray results etc) doesn't have that part. So the DS-3025 must've changed a bit since I had my medical in 2016.

I don't think you need to worry about anything if your DS-3025 is marked "US vaccination requirements COMPLETE (requesting a Blanket Waiver)". That's number 2 on my DS-3025 btw (called "2. Summary for Immigrant Visa Applicants), not the list of categories that you have on yours.

Ok, so the lack of dates are probably nothing to worry about then, that's reassuring to hear :)

Yeah they probably changed that section, though, from how you describe it, it sounds like the general idea of the part has stayed roughly the same, i.e. it summarises whether or not you met the vaccination requirements. But possibly, there is something in the wording that makes putting a check there incorrect - e.g., the top left one, which contains the term "immigrant visa" which I guess is not how a K1 is categorised normally, and the bottom one saying "K Visa applicant voluntarily completed vaccination requirements" might not apply for a K1 medical done abroad either for some reason - although it sounds spot on 😛

Einar certainly seemed to know what he was doing in general, so I hope he didn't just simply miss something here.

Since we are on the topic of medical :)

I have been trying to research which doctor to choose and I would love to hear from people who have been to the different ones. First of all, is there a clinic in Malmö approved to perform the medical? The embassy in Copenhagen lists Citykliniken in Malmö while the embassy in Stockholm only lists clinics in Stockholm and Gothenburg. Malmö would be the closest one for me!

I was also wondering about the cost - the only one I can see listing the cost is Gothenburg, 3750kr. Is the cost similar in Stockholm (and Malmö, if that one is approved)? What is included? I read somewhere that you had to get x-rays separately, does that apply for all clinics? And how much extra could I expect for those in that case?

Thanks!! 🙏🏻

Don't let the link mislead you; This lists the medical exam offices, prices, and instructions for Sweden, Denmark, and Norway for people getting their visas through Stockholm! There is an office in Malmö you can go to (Citykliniken as you said), the clinic info (dr name, address, phone number) is all in there. :)

There used to be a clinic in Malmö a couple of years prior to me having my medical in Gbg, but they no longer do medicals for visas. I doubt they have started again since 2016? The only two choices for someone from Sweden are Ggb and Sthlm.

Naturally I have only done one medical so I can't say much about the other clinic. I'm from Skåne so I obviously chose Einar in Gbg, half the trip compared to Sthlm. And much cheaper when I did mine. They wanted around 3300kr for the medical ONLY in Sthlm, and then another 500kr for the x-rays when I checked the pricing. In Gbg I paid 2800kr for medical AND x-rays. Prices have likely changed since, but considering Sthlm is still Sthlm, I bet Sibyllekliniken is still pricier..

Does anyone know the email address that packet 3 will be sent from? Like the US Embassy in Sweden's email, I want to add it to my contacts so I can be sure it doesn't go to spam.

I'm just assuming they're still using the same address: stkivinfo@state.gov

The checklist is often sent to the petitioner, so the US citizen should always keep an eye out for it, in the spam folder too.
