But would they want both (since they are both official government statements about it), and would prints of the emails even be sufficient? The list states, "for all male applicants: Military service record or Certificate of Unfitness for Military Service or Rejection stating grounds of disability". Would an email even be considered acceptable? They don't really look like "certificates", more like letters, and neither really goes into much detail, the overall vague reasoning is listed but not the specific problem that exempts him.

Is it just in an email or as an attachment to an email and it's on a piece of paper with the Danish military crest or similar on it? If it's just an email I'd contact them for an official one. I was fine with an attached letter in an email but that one had the crest on it. Also, ask them to make one in English for you.

Hi Scandinavians! :D
We are now in the waiting process to NVC, and we are preparing for the interview, but I have what I think is a couple of year old P3 packet from Stockholm embassy I found here on the forum last year, and I´m wondering if there maybe was someone that have "newer" P3 packet from the Stockholm embassy listing, everything I need for the interview?

It's in a PDF attachment, but It's marked in the corner as from the Forsvarsministeriets Personalestyrelse (Danish Ministry of Defense Personnel Agency) with the agency logo on it (which is just the HR department for the Ministry of Defense basically), not the Danish or military Coat of Arms. So it does have an official "logo" on it but I'm not sure if it would work since it's not the Denmark or Military Coat of Arms?

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

P3 has not changed, I suggest getting started on your medical as soon as you get the case number from NVC.  Interview appointment wait time for stockholm is very quick, literally within a week but appointment wait time for the medical exam with the doctor in stockholm is longer, 2 weeks and then 2-3 weeks for the results.

Oh also, you might want to consider getting your fiance vaccinated somewhere else instead of the medical exam place if needed, the doctor there charges double the normal rate.

Ok, thanks! Do you think he should bring print outs of both of them to the medical (and translations of both to the interview)?

Thank you so much for your answer!
That sounds like a good idea to schedule the Medical when I get my case nr., even though it´s in Copenhagen the wait time sounds about the same.

I´m happy to hear the wait time for the Stockholm embassy isn´t as long as I thought, I thought maybe a month.

Did you schedule your interview yet?

I think I should be good on all the vaccinations, but I´ll double check it, thank you again!

You can find the list of vaccinations here (and everything else you will need to bring for the medical exam in Denmark, including the costs, and also which doctors are certified for the medical exam and where to make an appointment)! You will have to figure out how to translate all the vaccinations yourself though into Danish. My husband and I are trying to do the same, figuring out which ones he already has so we can go ahead and get the ones he doesn't ahead of time :)

Did you also experience short waiting time to schedule an interview?

If it says in your instructions that you need to bring it for the medical yes. I was never required to do so in Sweden because it was before they re-instated the draft.

Yes, I´m the beneficiary, from Denmark. Okay, once a week then, I can imagine that would fill up pretty quick every week. But I´m also still waiting for the case nr. from NVC.

I hope your fiances interview went well!

No worries, the interviews won't fill up.  When we started the process, we were able to book the following thursday but we didn't even have our medical done yet so the medical was holding us up hence why I suggested getting the medical done as soon as possible.

My fiance's interview went well but we got a 221(g) for her birth certificate.  So we are having issues trying to get that since she wasn't born in Sweden.

Nice to hear they don´t necessarily fill up that fast :)

And it was great advice to book the medical as soon as I get the case nr,  thank you very much for that.

Sorry you guys got a221(g), I hope you´ll be able to get the BC soon, and then it shouldn´t be long till you get approved 🤞

We don't know if a BC even exists since she immigrated to Sweden as a child and never had a BC, we thought the swedish personbevis would be enough to proof her identity.  We started researching for me to apply for a residence permit in sweden in case they deny our petition.
