Question, has anyone in here proceeded without uploading a picture in the DS-160? And attached it later on. My upload won’t work.

I had to resize my photo several times in Paint to make it work. Don't laugh, my Paint skills are legendary. :D

Dual citizen and having a lot of fun doing his taxes ;) Or so I have heard.

Taxes won't be much of an issue, the only thing to think about is that an American citizen needs to file US taxes every year no matter where in the world he lives and/or works. So if you were to move to Sweden one day, both of you still need to file US taxes (if he's a US citizen, that is). It doesn't automatically mean you'll be paying taxes, but you need to file.

Well I haven't paid any Swedish taxes for the last 3-4 years maybe more so unless I have messed up,  I don't think he needs to be worried about that.

Edit: Or maybe I did fill out some kind of form at some point but I still have nothing to get or claim? I forget. Or if that only happened after I closed my Swedish bank account and transferred money.

LOL, well I suppose him and I will find out come tax season 2019 :P

I figured as much, as far as a USC standpoint. We may live in Sweden someday down the road, so that's still something to consider for us. Another reason we are looking at dual citizenship at this point, for both of us and possible future children.

I think it was just a hassle to file everything again, but maybe that was more because of the nature of what they had to file for (among other things some sort of company share warrant) than the double filing in itself.

Ah Paint 😄 good times!

Thanks for the tip though. It said it was not a size issue, however I tried resizing it and it worked finally. Have the interview scheduled now, for May 17th. Hoping closer dates will pop up.

Good morning :) I'm trying to make sure I'm prepared for my medical next week. I'm doing the medical in Stockholm and in the morning. They said they'd like to have the X-rays done by the time of the medical so I plan to drop by and do them the day before.

This is what I have:

- A document containing all vaccinations I received until 2 years old, including dates, from a medical clinic in the country I lived in at the time (all in English)

- A scanned journal from school containing additional vaccinations received in middle school in Sweden (not from high school though), it was sent to me by email and I will print it myself, should be no problem I hope

- An additional journal entry from my GP containing dates of two of my HPV vaccinations (not the third, for some reason, even though I had it)

- My passport and four passport pictures (Swedish standard, so not 2x2)

I know they mostly look at MMR, Tdap, varicella but they do check off other vaccinations in the DS-3025 too, correct?

As in check off ones that have been taken already in the past/aren't required? Yes, I remember Paul saying there were some he didn't have to take because of his vaccination history.

It isn't a mostly look at thing, it is that there are required vaccines for your age group.  Other vaccines on that list are required for other age groups, i.e. children and the elderly.

The only ones you need to bring to the appointment as an adult are TD, MMR, varicella (if you didn't contract it), and flu (if in season).

You definitely don't need the HPV one, that isn't even one that a sizable number of American millennials have gotten.

Even if they did check them off, you 100% do not need them to.

As Nola said you don't really need them as they're not for your age group though it's a good thing you'll get the documentation for it (if it's in English) as you can give it to your future doctor in the US.

If you haven't had a tetanus shot within the last 10 years you will definitively need one. Either have it done prior to medical or at the medical.

Any Norwegians have any experience with or have read anything about how long it takes to get your passport sent back from the embassy?

I have my interview scheduled for 24. May right now and I'm wondering how soon I can fly out after

Thank you, I was just not sure as I saw somewhere that the requirements for AoS might be different, so I thought maybe I should just try and bring records for every single shot I ever had. But this is good to know! I'm counting on having the tetanus shot again.

Thank you, and good luck to you too!:D I've been feeling relatively in control and prepared for all sorts of scenarios, but as soon as our status said "ready" I panicked and forgot all SEVEN MONTHS WORTH of preparation we've been doing :P I'm sure it'll all be ok though:rolleyes:

The only thing you need to think about regarding your AOS is that your vaccination work sheet (DS-3025) is marked "complete" and that you get a copy of it.

There are a few people who will need additional vaccines once they reach America from my recollection, but they are rare cases.  For example those who only received a first dose of the MMR vaccine at the medical exam or were pregnant and hadn't had the vaccine before.
