He needs to stay long enough to attend the interview, that's it.

Them keeping the passport is a very good sign, so hopefully they do. Yes once the visa is issued it'll be glued to one of the pages in his passport, then the passport along with the sealed envelope will be sent to him.

There won't be any fee that needs to be paid at the time of the interview. There is a $265 visa fee though, it'll be paid when he schedules his interview after he receives the email/checklist from the embassy.

Hi everyone :D

My fiance and I are going through the K-1 visa process.  After 179 days of waiting, we finally got our NOA2 and just got our case number assigned at the NVC on September 22nd.  I see some have posted about the incredibly long wait for the IR1/CR1 and I just wanted to let you know that it took a good deal longer than many of us expected to get through the USCIS, so hang in there. (F)

I have a couple of Scandinavia-specific questions that I'm hoping someone could help us with:

  • My fiance is traveling to Sweden from Denmark for the interview.  Does he have to stay longer than the day of the interview?
  • Do they keep the passport?  Is the visa affixed directly in the passport or is it a separate document?
  • Is there a fee for the interview itself?

Thank you in advance!  Wishing everyone luck with their process.

Thanks so much for your help!  Yeah, hopefully they'll keep the passport, eh :D

Does he need anything special to travel between Sweden and Denmark if not the passport?  Just another form of ID?

If he's going by train or car and if Sweden still has the ID controls on the border then he just uses his passport when entering Sweden. On the way back to Denmark he won't need anything.

Not sure how it works with flying if he intends to take a flight to Sthlm, he might need his Danish ID/driver's license then as he won't get his passport back after the interview.

Hi there. Does anyone know if we'll receive a copy of the I-129F package sent back to us after we get our NoA2? I feel like I've read about that somewhere but can't find it now. Very grateful if anyone here has any input :)

No you won't receive a copy of the package. It is recommended that you make a copy of the package for yourself before you send the I-129F package  in.

Hello guys

I am an 31 january filer. As it seems now Nebraska starts to move quite a bit. I do have some questions about next step.

Can anyone tell me exactly what fees I am expected to pay, is it immigration visa fee and I-864 Affidavits of support fee.

How did did you pay your fees from, in my case, Sweden. Could you pay online or did you need an American check or Amex? Please help. 😕

Hi,

I have a question regarding the affidavit of support I-134, and hopefully someone can give me some advice.. :)

My fiancé was studying last year (and working extra) and according to the tax return 2016, it doesn't reach the 2017 HHS poverty guidelines.

This year (from january), he is working full time and making more than the HHS poverty guidelines.

Is it enough to show what his salary is every month this year with recent paystubs, employment letter etc?

Or do you recommend co sponsorship in this case?

So thankful for any help. Have a great day!

The I-134's income requirement is based on extrapolated income, so this should be no issue for you using the current source of income.

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

Hey everyone. I have few things I'd like to make clear regarding vaccinations. I saw the requirement list for the Stockholm process, listed below:

*Mumps
*Measles
*Rubella
Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
Meningococcal
*Polio
Pertussis
Rotavirus
Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids
Hepatitis A
Hepatitis B
*Varicella
Zoster Influenza type b (Hib)

*Contraindicated for pregnant woman and immune-deficient individuals.

First of all, to those of you that are from Sweden and have gone through the process already, is this the complete list? (I'm K-1 but I guess it should be the same for any visa.) Second - do you need records of having all of these vaccines taken, in order to not have them require you to take them again? I heard for varicella it's all good as long as you've had chickenpox, no proof needed. Is that true as well? Third - is the one we had for tetanus at like 10 years of age in middle school enough to fill the tetanus/stelkramp requirement or did you need a second one? My Swedish doctor told me it lasts for 20 years, but I also read that in this process they might expect you to have had another round if it's been more than 10 years since the last one.

I'm Swedish, however I lived abroad when I was younger and I'm really not sure whether my vaccination records are stored with kommunen. I did have all of the above except hep A, rotavirus and meningococcal, and I have an old non-Swedish record stating my name and vaccinations, no personnummer... Not sure whether this will be sufficient...

You won't need the rotavirus, meningococcal, and hep A at your age.

You will need a tetanus-diptheria (and pertussis if available in combo) booster.

You will need records of the MMR, flu in season, and TD(aP).  That TD(aP) must be within 10 years.

https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/civil/vaccination-civil-technical-instructions.html#tbl1

From my recollection, pertussis isn't commonly part of the TD vaccine in Scandinavia, but it is something you should consider getting stateside in order to protect infants who you want come into contact with.  Hep A is another you'll want to consider stateside because there have been some recent outbreaks.

Hi,

Regarding the documents needed for the k1 visa interview at the embassy in Stockholm - what needs to be originals and what is possible to send on email and print out? (besides I-134) Also, the police certificate - do someone know if they want a sealed envelope or can I open it?

Thank you!!

Everything should be original or certified copies at the interview. There's no such thing as a certified tax return transcript though, so that's obviously not necessary. :P I took it as the i-134 had to be wet signature as well, maybe they skipped that now.

My police report was opened and I had no issues.
