Hi Everyone,

I really appreciate everyone’s input and participation. It’s been hard to find resources around the Stockholm consulate.

I have read back the last 6 or so pages and wanted to see if I have summarized things correctly.

K1 interviews are taking less tome to be scheduled than IR/CR1.  People who have become ”DQ”/approved by NVC  in April 2021 are having interviews in October/Nov 2021.

IR/CR1 people who were DQ in Nov 2020 are having interviews now in Oct/Nov 2021.

Is this fairly accurate?

My husband and I are IR1 and sent the package to NVC Oct25th and expected a 90 day turn around from the NVC (according the NVC)

I wasn’t really expecting a 1 year interview wait after that. 6mo maybe, but dang. I guess I am just looking for a little hope and good news. :)

Also found this resource on consulate processing. Not sure if it helps anyone’s data collection, but thought it was interesting.

Think March/April IR/CR folks had interviews in Nov, didn't hear about any December interviews though. Also K1s that were DQed in Sept had interviews in Nov. So slightly better than what you have summarized.

Thanks! So many unfinished timelines it’s hard to get a good overview of the process.

I just looked at yours. Seems like the K1’ers are much more active at updating. Or the IR1/CR1 is so slow people have just given up or still waiting. We will see.

Hi everybody! Just want to come here and say hi. My husband and I just filed our i-130 form, and now it's just waiting and waiting. Our case is a little complicated I think, but hopefully we will be together soon! 😪 He's a US citizen, and I'm a Danish citizen, and we lived together in Denmark for 3 years, before he got a job in the US. Nice to meet you aaaaalll 🤠

Hi everyone, we got an interview date for February 28th. Considering we are in tier 4 of the priority list, I guess maybe this means backlog is clearing up?

Thanks for the update! We are due for NVC approval at the end of Jan. I’ll update everyone with our interview date once we have it. 🤞🤞

Unfortunately, it seems that there are no time slots for the medical exam here in Sweden, is it acceptable to book for the medical exam with the approved physicians in Denmark or Norway if we are residents in Sweden?

No available appointments at all?

When had my medical back in 2016 we weren't allowed to have it done in another country. The one in Denmark would've been a lot more convenient (closer) for me, but I could only choose between Gbg and Sthlm.

Nope, nothing until April and our interview is Feb 28. I asked to put on us the waitlist for cancellations, but not looking good. Both Norway and Denmark said they had spots, but I don't know if I am allowed to have the appointment in another country. And there is only Gbg now (we are in Gbg so that would have been ideal).

This is what it says in the embassy website:

Quote

Medical Exam Instructions

All immigrant visa applicants, regardless of age, require a medical examination prior to the issuance of a visa. Only a physician accredited by the U.S. Embassy can perform this exam. It is your responsibility to schedule a medical exam with one of the doctors listed below before your visa interview at the U.S. Embassy. Medical examination results from other physicians will not be accepted.

IMPORTANT: Applicants residing in Denmark or Norway should attend a medical exam with the approved physician in that country. Please instruct the physician to forward your exam results directly to the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm.

It doesn't necessarily say that if we live in Sweden if we can attend a medical exam in Denmark/Norway or not.

This is what I got in a link in the email from the embassy:

"IMPORTANT: The entire medical examination, the chest X-ray and the serological test for syphilis must be performed by a designated panel physician (see lists below). Medical examinations may not be done at U.S. military facilities, by physicians in the United States, or by a family physician. Chest X-rays and the serological test are normally not required for children under 15 years of age. You are responsible for making an appointment with one of the panel physicians in your country of residence.STK - Stockholm.pdf (state.gov)

It's possible it has changed, it's been a few years.

Worst case you just won't have your medical until April, which will only cause a delay in the issuance of the visa, but if you can wait then it's not an issue at all. You can still go to your interview as scheduled.

And Einar in Gbg is amazing, highly recommend you go to him if you get the chance. He will even make sure you receive a copy of the FULL medical report if you ask for it, not just the vaccination work sheet.
